    I think:

    G Data
    Emsisoft
    Coranti
    PrevX
    VIPRE

Would make the ultimate malware-catching composition together.

Would have been better as a poll.
After reading the entire thread, I have no idea which engines are most favored.

The following 5 virus engines would make for a great product:

    1) Norton
    2) Avira
    3) Kaspersky
    4) BitDefender
    5) VIPRE

Many people here are cheating. Obviously, you cannot pick G-Data as it's multi-engined (BitDefender and Avast).

    My pick would be:

    1) Avira (because it's good against the malware floating around here in Northern Europe)
    2) Ikarus (the best detection there is)
    3) BitDefender (maybe the most used engine in the world?)
    4) MBAM (since it offers detection against malware that are missed by other vendors)
    5) Hitman's own engine that identifies potential malware

Funny, a lot of posters choose more than 5 engines when asked to post 5. Do they really want or have that many engines or do they not know some products are using more than one engine?

    Yes, I agree with you.
On the other hand, Hitman uses more than 5 engines. It actually 6 engines; Avast, BitDefender, Dr.Web, Ikarus, Emsisoft and Prevx (Webroot).

I'm trying to avoid a poll because I don't want it to be the "Wilders top five favourite antivirus engines thread" :thumb:

Don'tworry, there is no ranking here and no comments is asked for. Anyway at the end all possible engines see the light in this thread.
But maybe there are some fools who are counting the engines voted for.
