Just a bit of fun here no A vs B stuff please :)

If you were going to make a product like Hitman Pro what engines would you use? Hitman Pro has 5 so let's say we can choose 5 for this too

I'd choose, in no particular order

    1, Kaspersky
    2, Avira
    3, Eset
    4, Avast!
    5, Prevx

    **NEW RULES**
No multi-engined antivirus eg G-Data, Coranti, Emsisoft meaning both Emsisoft and Ikarus :D

Combofix is an engine? o_O I though it was some sot of analyzer not a full blown engine.

    I would choose:

    - G-Data (2 in 1 :D)
    - Avira
    - Emsisoft (2 in 1 again )
    - PrevX
    - Can't come up with 1 more :D I'll think about it later

This one would be a winner, but why limit yourself to 5 products, didn't HitmanPro have 7 or 8 different previously including Avira and Eset?

Actually, this is too variable area where anything can be changed unexpectedly. I'd advise everybody not to rely on a signature-based security which can fail in any unpredictable moment, but to rely on HIPS, SandBox and Backup/Restore solutions.

    1) Bitdefender (very good heuristic and polymorphic detection)
    2) DrWeb (very good rootkit detection and removal)
    3) Eset (very good engine too)
    4) AVG (for the standard crab)
    5) Sophos (for worms and other nasty viruses)

I dont really want to make this into a poll because that then shows overall what people think...id rather it be what each person thinks...plus it would kind of be A vs B then
