 Decreased use of resources on systems that have been running for long periods of time: - The load of CPU and memory resources by the Guard service is considerably less on systems that have been running for long periods of time.
 Increased security protection of your Avira product - Changes in the registry of Windows and thus disabling AntiVir services are not possible anymore.
 Increased protection for the user - By enabling the enhanced process protection by default, the user is automatically more protected against attacks
 Complete log files that provide more useful details about the scan results - The scanner scans hidden registry keys, but now doesn’t record it anymore in its entirety to prevent wrong log entries - The user can get the scan results directly in the message box after the scan. Those will still be displayed correctly even if specific malware tries to close the message.

Does anyone have details on this problem? I haven't noticed CPU and memory use any higher on subsequent days as compared to the first day, if that's what they're saying happens now.

Does the Personal version get this SP, too, and at the same time? I'm not clear if Personal users are eligible to participate in the test. The list of products for test that I saw did not include Personal.

This is for Payware version!!!

 

I think the new toolbar is only for the free version. So avira is adding webguard to the free version but of course with a price(ask toolbar ).

 

No webguard have just the payware.I don't pay licence to Avira to use Ask Toolbar.They are mad.
One year verry bad version 10 and now surprise... Toolbar.

....p.s.On the photo i see Avira Antivir Free but may be is for Premium to.

 

@ Coccinelle .. you seem to be quite confused. - I don't like ASK toolbar stuff at all (I would never put something like that on my system!), but if people don't want to pay (premium version) for webguard feature they can use *now* - or so it seems to me watching the screenshots - the *free* version and then by enabling the mentioned toolbar they obviously can get webguard as well. - I use premium suite version and if at some point they nag me with evil ASK toolbar Avira will get off my system! (But they won't, they aren't stupid after all, regarding this toolbar it's just the free version I guess and hope! And if you don't want webguard you don't have to install ASK toolbar. That's what I believe is going on. Might be a cool thing especially if you somehow can uninstall this toolbar and keep webguard if this is possible which I don't know of course.

 

Yes,yes i saw all photos and AskToolbar is just for Free version.
I use the Premium version and every year i bay licence to use WebGuarg.
So If is not for Payware version is good.

New: Service Pack 2 (SP2) for AV10 Desktop and Server Products

 

It looks like they're putting the WebGuard in the free version then. I don't want that, it slows down my browsing when I used it in the paid version. Definitely no thanks. If they do this and/or add the toolbar, it may be time to look for another AV for me.....

That's pretty sad how they're tying the toolbar to the WebGuard.

 

I'm trying to get some info on toolbars. I lack some knowledge on the issue and am not making light of it, so here goes my question. Toolbars are bad because? I've read that Panda Cloud Free has one but it can be uninstalled and you can retain it's webguard.

 

unless the ask toolbar is mandated regardless of whether you have the webguard installed, then i'd assume the install is just like every other avira product's installer -- you pick the components you want and it doesn't install the ones you don't.

Yes, I'd just opt out of the entire package, toolbar and web guard... I don't want or need either. Let's hope it's that simple.
