I ran Panda Cloud 1.3 with Magic Jack for several months without any issues awhile ago.

I'm running PCAV 1.5 RC and must say that I'm impressed with the simple GUI and how light the software is once the machine is up and running. But I must admit that I'm a bit diasappointed in the boot-up time with PCAV. It adds about 10-15 seconds to boot-up and at least another 30 seconds of added time to pull up a chrome session. This is compared to the previous 2 security softwares I was running on this computer.

With that said, I'm very excited about the potential of PCAV and will be waiting for the final release.

    Regards,
    -BenMar

I second that, i like it quite a bit too. However the extremely slow boot up is very disappointing, for me it's more like an extra minute at the welcome screen compared to your 15 seconds. It seems the old slow boot issue is back.

Hopefully fixed in the released version.

I uninstall the toolbar but leave the URL filtering. The red pop up screen for blocking malware pages works very well.

Indeed, I also like the simple block page it has.
However I think it is not good to be dependant of installing a toolbar to get url filtering. Therefore, it is great that from version 2.0 url filtering will be integrated in the core product.

It might be a good idea (for version 1.5 it will be too late I guess) for future pre-2.0-versions to have three options in the installer (or options 2 and 3 only):
    1. Install Panda Cloud Antivirus
    2. Install Panda Cloud Antivirus plus Panda URL Filtering
    3. Install Panda Cloud Antivirus plus Panda URL Filtering plus Panda Security Toolbar

agreed and also dont think giving the user to over ride the blocked page to go to a know malware site is good. My teens can abuse this

This is not normal at all. Do you have any other security software? Can you send me a DDS log?

I respectfully disagree. I need the ability to override, as there are occasional FPs.

Once URL Filtering is integreated, there won't be Panda Domain Advisor right? That's the reason I didn't use it in the current version.

You can turn Domain Advisor off if you want. When you get a 404 domain advisor at the bottom of the page there's a link to disable it.

I also have Malwarebytes Free on-demand. I installed PCAV first before installing Malwarebytes. Along with Win7 firewall (default settings).

I will send you the log via PM sometime this evening.

Just an update on bootup times, etc...Averaged 3 boot times

From push of power button to seeing desktop 44sec, to open and use Chrome 83sec.

The 44sec time seems on par with the other two realtime AV's I used but the 83sec for a Chrome session is roughly 10-20 seconds longer. Which I suppose isn't that bad. The thing that concerns me is that the desktop is basically rendered useless until the Panda loads in the system tray.

One other note...I have seen the memory consumption in the task manager as low as 200k after startup until Panda is accessed and then it seems to hoover around 1400-2000k. Panda URL Filtering runs around 3200k.

    Regards
    BenMar

Re: Chrome and FF startup delays, there's some performance optimization, specifically in the cache, we're still working on for sometime between 1.5 and 2.0 that should take care of these issues.
