Here is PC Mag's review of it

    http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2386381,00.asp

    summary

    Pros
Attractive new user interface. Preinstall antivirus scan. Download manager. Powerful firewall. Accurate phishing protection. Browser virtualization. Comprehensive spam protection. Whole drive encryption. Top notch parental control. Registry tune-up. Credit monitoring.
    Cons
So-so malware detection. Download manager contradicted antivirus at times. Less effective at blocking malware. Antispam accuracy down.
    Bottom Line
While its antispam and antivirus scores have slipped since the last version, ZoneAlarm Extreme Security 2012 offers a powerful firewall, excellent parental control, and ForceField browser virtualization as well as whole disk encryption. If its strengths match your needs it can be a great choice.

By far this is the worst case of marketing that Check point have introduced into their line of products, Unless you have Extreme Security Installed there is a section of each of the other products that tell you sertain components are not available, and to click a link to find out more...hence you will be then directed to their store to puchase an upgrade of whatever you are using (i.e If you have zonealarm pro you will be prompted to upgrade to Extreme security, and so forth......).They really are getting ridiculous with this type of marketing

If it is true, that does sound pretty lame. I can understand if you are using shareware or a free version and they try to get you to upgrade. But if I already paid them money, stop trying to get every cent out of me.

IMO, I don't see anything strange. All ZA line has the same interface as the top product with non-available module grayed out. IF and only IF you click on the more info on the grayed items you get to the zonealam pages that indicates the product with that features.

I actually find it useful, You cannot imaging how may users I found in ZA forum believing that installing ZAPRO they will also get antivirus/antispyware protection or whatever. So, they were happily get infected by malware :D

I am sure they also have an advantage in developing time and efforts not been obliged to customise the interface for all the different products.

Imagine if they started doing this in all cars LOL. You get into a mini and there's all the iDrive buttons and screen greyed out. If you touch it, it will tell you that you need to at least be driving a 5 series and ask you to goto your nearest dealer and upgrade :p.

Imaging a carrot talking to you and saying you need also to eat a tomato... You can make hundreds of these examples out of context... they simply do not fit here. :)

Instead its quite common to see software with portion grayed out because of... you don't have subscription, because of... it does not apply to your hardware version, because of... etc. I see the same in my car GPS system.

Of course, you may or may not like it.. but there isn't anything new or groundbreaking about it.

    ZA Extreme (latest version) :)

I had some initial quirk with the toolbar but now it is working well. Faster boot, faster and better control of updates, easier interface. For sure its an improvement as compared to the previous version.

At this time the English version of ZA 10.0.240.000 is not supported on non-English OS's

We hope this will change in a later version but as of now its not supported. Sorry.
