Has anyone any experience with this product, pro or con. As a previous user years ago, I have the opportunity to buy at a 70% discount. I currently use Revo (free) which is acceptable but for $12.00 this sounds like a good deal. Thanks

I am happy with it and used it for a year or so. It has clean up tools as well. I prefer it to Revo
It also has an install monitor (though I use Total Uninstall instead)

    Total Uninstall is the No.1.
    Then, Your Uninstaller and Revo.

Yeah, I'd say that you get what you pay for here, If you got the money, buy Total Uninstall or Revo Uninstaller :)

I have used this recently, and it seems to do a good job. With the 70% discount you are getting, I don't think your be disappointed.
It could be worth giving the trial ago, just encase to check it meets your needs.

You can get Advanced Uninstaller Free from Softpedia

Has all of the basic uninstall features except for the monitor.

To myself the Pro features are useless anyway because they don't have anything to do with uninstalling software.

    Thanks.:D

According to the official site, both versions include the Installation Monitor feature.

The free version has the monitor but only works in (snapshot mode) very slow whereas in the paid Pro version the monitor works in (both snapshot and real time, faster, monitoring).

    Thanks.:D

What is real-time monitor? Is the snapshot monitor like Zsoft Uninstaller where it records all the files and registry entries on the computer?

    Yes.

Real-time monitor is done in background when installing. However this kind of monitors have a big problem: they can't handle well (even with dangerous effects) with app. that need to reboot [or to reboot when uninstall]. E.g.: Comodo Programs Manager or Revo Uninstaller PRO.

Completely agree, real-time monitoring can be dangerous because when you uninstall one of your programs they can accidentally delete unrelated files and registry keys causing many problems. That why I don't use a monitor for uninstalling programs. I much rather the uninstaller program leave behind some junk then to delete important things needed by my system and other programs. Even restoring snapshots can be dangerous.

Of coarse the idea of having a monitor to completely remove all traces of the uninstalled programs sounds good, it never works like it should on any uninstall tool and is not worth the problems. So beware of Uninstall tools that use real-time or snapshot monitoring.

    Thanks.:D

Ashampoo Uninstaller is also doing amaziingly well and reliable on my 7x64 sp1 box. Big discount, if not free, are regularly available online. The "reinstallation backup" feature is a particularly handy add-on for me.

I've used both. ZSoft is the best, but has no true 64-bit support. Then again, Revo free also doesn't cover 64-bit applications. Only advantage Revo has over Zsoft is that it's easier to use.

I wanted to try Advanced Uninstaller free a couple of times before, but never did as I don't feel comfortable with a bloated application for its class. It just seems ironic that an uninstaller cannot even cleanly uninstall its own leftovers (I found some registry remnants...)

    You are right:)
Sorry if it's out of topic but i installed Smarty Uninstaller 2012 from Giveaway of the day and removed Revo free.I used regseeker and found some more. Most of the times there will be something to be found no matter what software uninstaller you use.

It's sad but true. The exception is it's fully portable (aka Stealth).

Tried Advanced Uninstaller Pro and Smarty Uninstaller snapshot feature. Unlike ZSoft Uninstaller they seem that don't have a ignore list customized - this is a crucial element in a snapshot based uninstaller. Also their analyze before/after monitor delays too long.

Smarty Uninstaller leftovers feature is too aggressive - ZSoft is more reliable and can handle well with app. that need to reboot after uninstall.
