I don't like web rating products, a site either contains threaths or it does not contain threats. Also common sense is perfectly capable of replacing the "orange" status.

But ofcourse phishing and malware protection features are great and so are features like protected mode (BitDefender 2012 beta).
Also it is a good thing they don't add a whole toolbar but a drop-down solution. However I dislike any type of browser extension.

The universal installer installs a service, not a browser extension...:)

Does the universal installer still slows down browsing? Or it improved? :D

A little, but the with the addon (extension) version I haven't notice any slow down.

Anyway take into account that is still a beta

Yes I can confirm that the browsing slowdown still exists; however video streaming is fine.

    System Info:

    VirtualBox
Windows 7 64 bit home premium
    Outpost Security Suite 7.5

    Thanks.

I am using the firefox extension. I use dopdf to save web documents which have print option. In some documents I see either the traffic light maximized toolbar or the small icon at the top. Does anyone face this issue while printing?

Is TrafficLight only a PlaceboLight? :D Hehe

No, I've seen it flag malicious domains. :) As everything else, it's not perfect, but it isn't bad either.

Only if the web installer version didn't slow down web browsing. :(

For the next version of TrafficLight we have 2 goals:
    - BD2012 now includes the TL SDK - so, if you want to see how fast will be the new TL, you can install the Beta version of BD2012 from http://beta2012.bitdefender.com/
    - the new TrafficLight webinstaller should be finished until the end of this month

Be sure you guys properly test it to make sure it won't make browsing a living hell. That's the major problem with it, that I could find. ;)

The issue I related between TrafficLight (Chrome extension, at least) and AVG LinkScanner Safe-Search extension has been fixed by AVG. :thumb:

    -edit-

There's still a problem. After a few repeatedly seaches, Safe-Search crashes. I'll report it.

Is it possible to turn off this small icon at the top? :doubt:

Don't use it :D. Just joking, I don't think there is currently a way.

Turning off the small button is on our todo's list, but with a low priority..
Ever since we redesign/re-dimension the button, we have little to no complains (until now again :D) about it

For TL Extensions it will/should be available as an entry in the Options area of each Add-on

For TL Webinstaller it's a little complicated, since we don't have any systray icon or visual interface - other than the one inside the web pages - and we don't have the intention to change this approach :)

    - one idea is to have a keywords combination; this is not ok, since you can easily forget the combination :)
    - another idea is to make the small button to be autohide; you'll end up searching it for several seconds and blame BitDefender for the stupid idea :p
    - in the early stages of development we had the whole 'Toolbar' on autohide mode; not ok, thrust me :D
    - and finally, one idea is to rely on the [future] option from TL Extension (therefore to install both TL Webinstaller & TL for Chrome and/or FF and/or Safari); still, this is a somehow complicated solution, but if we make it available as a link from the Settings page, can be the best approach

I'm liking it so far, no noticeable impact and seems to be very promising. :)

I like it as well - but I don't like the ugly icon at the top :doubt:

Which browser are you using? With firefox, the add-on works well, and you can barely see the hidden drop-down toolbar.

10/10 for design in firefox. Works extremely well with WOT.
