I would prefer if it looked like the original A squared anti-trojan application- They had a Horse in the upper corner that spun about during a scan. It doesn't get better than that!

I would prefer incremental updates ... :doubt:

They use a Trojan horse as their logo, quite contradictory :p

But MBAM should keep their own GUI, has a nice style of it's own, could be a bit more modern though.

I downloaded yesterday. So far the only high CP usage is on startup. I suppose thats when it is updating. Then The CP usage dropped way down to less then 5%. As for Browsing I notice no slow down at all. If I didn't check to see if it was running I would not have known. Very light on my system.
I'm Liking it. 13 days left of the trial.

    Chrome
    Norton 360 v5
    Mbam 1.51.00.600
    Key-scrambler Pro
    Norton DNS
    SAS

Do you think that Malwarebytes might run a Wilders Security Special and offer the New version at a Discount for a limited time. That would probably get some takers I'm sure. Me for one.

You find $24.95 for a lifetime licence too much? It is $17.99 at amazon.com.

I don't find it to much. But it never hurts to look for a lower price or catch a sale on the software if it's available. I've already made up my mind to get it, i'm just waiting now till the trial is over. I think it works great. I see no drag on my system at all.

The protection module obviously works differently on different machines. On my desktop it does not make much of a difference in speed. My laptop freezes when I run it. Both machines have pretty much the same software installed.

I find just opening the GUI by clicking the system tray icon takes ages compared with other software i have.Im not sure why that would be as the gui seems pretty plain.I guess its the coding?

Opening the GUI that way creates a separate process, instead of using the same for both functions.
I think it has something to do with the fact that Malwarebytes' Free doesn't run in the background.

I have the pro version. It takes the same amount of time to open the gui from the tray whether real time protection is on or not.Its not a huge amount of time ,probably about 8 seconds. All my other apps open in milliseconds.

I presently do not have it running but I can confirm this as well with using the Pro version.

Like I said, it creates a new process. Your other apps most likely uses the same process for tray and GUI.
MBAM Free doesn't have tray, which is probably why there are 2 processes.

i really wish they would add an option to update before scanning, that way people who use mbam to scan files on-demand from the context menu wont be scanning with old sigs and wont have to open the mbam interface, update, then scan manually again. it would be a nice feature to have.
