In some cases, it's impossible because it concerns a temporary folder that don't even exist afterwards, or for some other reason, such as the impossibility to really know which app is involved, unless you're Mark Russinovitch (sorry if I misspelled his name).

Can you run Sandboxie with Appguard, any setting/configurations I should know about? Hope this is the right place to ask.

You can. Moderator Peter2150 runs them I believe. He can give you some configuration suggestions. Once configured they can compliment each other nicely.

I sure do run them together. Nothing special to do in Sandboxie.

In Appguard I added all the Sandboxie exe file to the Application Exception list.

Then I added the Sandboxie folder in the Documents and Settings area(XP) to the exceptions folder.

    That's it.

Now I have a question for you guys.

Has any one had any problem with MBRGuard on installation. I tried installing Appguard on another machine, and the installation halted with an installation error, and rolled back.

I search the forum, but if it's here, I missed.

    Thanks,

    Pete

    Hi Peter,

It may seem obvious... But have you checked to see if the MBR is locked in the BIOS?
Unlock install, then re-lock the MBR

    HI SumoX

Wasn't obvious at all. I'll check that out.

    Thanks,
    Pete

Okay, I checked. There is no mbr protection in the bios. Only thing there is a password capability and it is disabled.

I had a similar experience with my HTPC when I ran Win 7 x64 on it. AppGuard installed fine but I simply couldn't activate the MBR-guard, it was always red and off. For other reasons, I had to re-install the OS on the computer to Win 7 32-bit, and have not encountered the problem since.

In my experience MBR protection does not always have an obvious name...
Like MBR protection or lock, sometimes it's called virus protection or lock.
I've seen disk safe, anti virus... ect

Other than that I can't think of anything, except some security software have a similar thing to MBRGuard which may be stopping you...o_O

Thanks SumoX. Not entirely sure what that would be, but for now, the effort has stopped. Thanks, for the help.

I posted a question, then resolved it myself two seconds later - it turned out it didn't relate to AppGuard at all, so I removed the info ;)

Is there another build of AG in the works? Seems like maybe some of the silent blocking of Windows functions could be addressed in a new build. There was also some reports on this forum of some specific attacks that bypassed AG. I do not remember which ones they were, but if i need to find the thread for reference then I can. I would like to start beta testing again to help out if I could.

We're pretty much left in the dark here. Several users have since a long time ago reported the issues, but we haven't had any feedback about a new version in the works to fix these severe bugs.

Unfortunately, I think their enterprise products pay the bills and the consumer version is not a high priority. I uninstalled the product from my machines and will wait for the next update. Worst case scenario - I wasted $25 on my license. Hopefully, Eirik or Barb will give us an update sometime soon. :)

One other question, do you or anyone know if RollBack RX is compatible with MBRGuard? Can I install Appguard without MBRGuard?
    Thanks
