I have a single computer that is slowly circling the drain. I need to create an image, have it save to a network share, and then be able to restore that image to a new hard drive.

Which software package should I use?
What means of booting to an unformated drive will I be able to use to select the remotely stored image?

    Thanks

Why not just use a cloning program?

You can use Hard Disk Manager 2011. You can "boot" to an unformatted drive using a WinPE boot medium created from the HDM 2011 EXE file. If WinPE HDM 2011 doesn´t "see" the unformatted drive, it may be necessary to inicialize it. This can be done with the Partition Wizard Linux boot disk.
