Good Morning ! E-Mailed G-Data Ed last wk inquiring as to when to expect the availability of the new product line. As everyone knows it's been available in Germany and the U.K. for a month or two. I received a strange reply from G-Data Ed stating was I referring to the retail or Enterprise products. No other comments just a Question. I replied asking for the retail or home based release date...no response as of yet. I find this odd...was the reply from Ed...or head office in Bochum Germany. Is the new U.S.A.Site active...why hasn't the new product line been released...and why no feedback...from G-Data Ed ? Sincerely...Securon

Hi Securon, this is odd. Did you use the email address provided by Ed a few months ago, <ed.johnson (at) gdatasoftware dot com>? I don't know why someone else would respond.
The U.S. site hasn't been too active lately, only the News/Press section seems to be updated regularly, quoting Ed in most of the articles. Please keep us updated as to any response you may get.

Good Morning ! Hi Cimmerian...I've had G-Data Ed's E-Mail address for quite some time. I just find it odd that the response lacked any personality with it...and because G-Data's website is lacking any customer interaction it makes me wonder if something else is at play. Sincerely...Securon

Good Morning ! I'm aware that the U.K. Site has 2012 products...but the whole purpose of the new U.S.A. Site was to provide up to date communication with the N.American Customer base...where the real growth market exists. Sincerely...Securon

Seems to me that G-Data Ed has been directed to maintain a lower profile by the home office.

For a dual-engine av, it's definitely light. I was pleasantly surprised when I first tried the 2011 version. Initially, the 2012 version seemed a bit heavier, but after a day or two it settled down considerably, and is probably a bit lighter.

Could be, but if this is the case, I would say it's a big blunder on their part. Having someone like Ed on the forum can only increase G Data's exposure. Not a bad thing if you're trying to increase your market share, imho.

Good Evening ! In my experience having had to endure G-Data's past Poor Communication...Poor Support...and Poorer Attitude. This is truly disappointing...to secure a Dynamic...Personable...Customer Focused Individual like Ed Johnson and then to Stifle their contact with the very market they're trying to make inroads in...goes beyond mystifying. Hopefully we'll hear something positive in nature from someone at Team G-Data U.S.A/Canada. Sincerely...Securon

G-Data is so light I have to use double sided tape to keep my notebook from floating up to the ceiling.

My tower pc weighs a bit more than a notebook...the ceiling fan set on low usually keeps it down.

Pfft, yeah right. Suprisingly, for something so light, the installer is so big. Says its going to take two hours to install. Good thing I'm off from school today. :cautious: I'll bet something later on to prove how heavy GData will be. ;)

    Muhaha..! :argh: lawl

My netbook was slowed to a crawl, despite it feeling light (light as in less visible than Norton was). I win! Back to Panda I go! :argh:

*(It was Norton 360 netbook edition)
