Zillya! Antivirus?

Has anybody tried this product? For those who do not know, it is free and uses its own in-house engine. I'm not sure on its overall performance (detection, cleaning, etc), though.

Though not all is true about it...

 

It indeed consumes a lot of RAM but consumes very little CPU, less compared to many other AVs. So it may seem light in systems with min 2Gb RAM.

 

Eh...I only have 1GB...

 

If anyone reading this has actually used Zillya, I would greatly appreciate your opinion as to whether or not Zillya includes a behavior blocker as a component of its real-time scanner.

 

I have used Zilliya and I am almost sure that there is no BB yet.

Does anybody know how good the detection rate is?

First set contains 500 Samples, Second set 5000 Samples.
It's from last year but it gives you a hint of the detection rates.

Well I have not used this Anti virus because I am currently using Avast which is completely protecting my Computer from Malware and Virus . I would be happy if anybody would share their experiences of using it .

 

I'm unsure if you want to talk about Zillya or Avast?

If Avast then it would be better if you could start a new thread, or use the search function to find useful info.

 

Lol..!! My test was a real armature test, it surely does not have much relevance as it was the on-demand detection test against old malwares. I should better point to this test,

Zilliya performed really poor there...

 

Is there any recent tests? That other test is almost a year old, and Zillya has probably since impproved.

 

Not that I know of.

I said that the test was posted last year, and I also said that I posted it so you could get a "hint" of the detection rate.

 

Not now. I tried it out for several days a while back. It's stable. Light on cpu but a tad heavy on I/O. However, for me to use a given AV on a long-time basis, it must have a configurable behavior blocker.

Zillya! is not owned by Innovative Marketing. I think they branched off from IM a long while back.

And have you not read the above posts? Or tested the product?

 

IM does not work anymore but some workers Innovative Marketing hiding, some work in other companies, and some deals Zillya!
I tested the program last year and poorly in detecting viruses

 

Okay..? It needs some improving, however, it does better against Ukraine/Russian-based malware. (Possibly) Like Rising and Kingsoft are with chinese-based malware. It is new to America and will improve as the year passes. Zillya has existed for some time, and most likely branched off from IM before it came to an end. One of the devs has an account here on Wilders, so you could probably tell you. There is a chance, however, that we could be wrong. For this reason, the correct research must be done.

I know that. That is what I was saying and is why I used them as an example.

the system runs much slower
program also takes a lot of memory



Now a detection test, standard settings for all programs, all programs have been updated

05/08/2011 60 files:

Zillya Antivirus 5/60 8,3%

avast! Free Antivirus 6 56/60 93,33%

AVG 2011 free 51/60 85%

Avira free 55/60 91,66%

Panda Cloud 58/60 96,66%

09-10.05.2011 129 files:

Zillya Antivirus 19/129 14,72%

avast! Free Antivirus 6 115/129 89,14%

AVG 2011 free 92/129 71,31%

Avira free 112/129 86,82%

Panda Cloud 118/129 91,47%

 

If you still a copy of those samples, I suggest sending them Zillya for analysis so they can label them as malware. They are working very hard to improve. And scareware isn't free, so isn't free upgrades from AV to IS (when the AV became free).
