That has nothing to do if we will be allowed to do a Custom installation or not. ;)

Disable a feature is one thing, Custom installation another.

Realtime protection and firewall modules can be disabled or unloaded from memory.
I would expect this options can be used in the installer, too.

I hope that never happens!, if they do that, it means many of the people who use pirated versions, can simply download the file from shared places and have their antivirus updated free of cost.

They already can get free updates, through cracks or pirated usernames, so that won't stop them. It would be a pity if the paid users who want offline updates don't get it if because Eset would rather chase pirates than support their paid userbase.

Pretty much the business model of the software industry for the last decade.

In any case, I hope they have something to show us soon. Some of the major players have public betas of 2012 versions floating around and they are looking pretty good. I hope ESET gets something out to compete with them soon while anyone still cares. :doubt:

    Nice find SweX.

On 26 March the Beta page announced that the Android Beta was coming soon, it has been released today 28 April. Which means a difference of 33 days.

Let's assume it takes about the same time for the beta to be available.
That would mean 31 May (Tuesday).

    Hello. :)

There is unfortunately No month, no week, no day, no date announced, and probably will not be announced either.

But several of us do expect a release within the month of May.
Just keep checking this thread for possible news etc.....

    Any more info leaks?
Will the HIPS functionality in v5 will work just as well in x64? Or does that kernal patch-guard mess with it.

A custom install for stuff not integral to the fw and av functionality would be great.
