    I didn't post this BETA as it's not a BETA question ;)

As v.4 will include a Firewall, along with AntiMalware & Browser protection etc, then to all intents & purposes i suppose it could be called a Suite.

I know the FW can be disabled if not required :thumb: but to include one & therefore turn Prevx into a Suite, when Prevx & Psol were, IMO, doing fine without a FW, leads me to imagine that the FW needs to be something a bit special. Otherwise what would be the point.

Also your average jo "might" experience problems trying to disable etc their existing FW to allow the v.4 FW to become effective ? Unless you have a secret plan ;)

These threads will be useless and pointless because v4 Beta has not been released and Joe will not get into it until it is released IMO! Don't forget that the Program Download is around 500kb! I will leave it up to Joe if he wants to close this thread or not!

My take TH, speculation is good. People have the right to, knowing they have no fatual information to suggest otherwise, There has been a lot of speculation on V4 and thats ok. The bottom line is what will be true or not when it comes out.

As far as it maybe having a fireall then cool. To be able to add that feature and keep it as small as Joe says means, if true, it aint your normal run of the mill firewall.

What keeps me intersted is, knowing there has to be something special coming if for no other reason then the patent issue. That alones tells me and makes the delay more believable that something special is coming.Waiting stinks, but it is what it is and I am tired of rushed products coming to the market. This one will be cool, we just have to be patient, simple as that.

Ill take this quote from another thread and post it here becuse I think it has meaning.

Why Joe is not discussing version 4 much due to it not being available. I does not mean people cant suggest or add there bit of information for Joe to maul over when he has a chance.

Also from the post above Joe is not the only one here that is testing the alpha and something someone may bring up may spark a debate among the alpha testers or make Joe ponder also. As for the hold up on Prevx Joe has gave us a flat answer that it takes time to overhaul the Database to be able to support the amount of users they expect / have. If there is anything else holding it up Im sure he would post something on it letting everyone know. =)

Bottom line, wait. I am sure the Prevx/Webroot will deliver the best malware fighting product of the future.

I am sure that Joe is not teasing and that much as he would like to let the loyal following on the forum know the details of what is coming but is bound by company policy (and working in the software business I have 'suffered' that too). :(

I am sure that when all is revealed it will prove to be a blinder and will surpass our expectations...otherwise why is it taking this long. :D

Exactly, IMO obviously something changed maybe even very abruptly because it's been very silent after version 4 beta was promised (perhaps hinted is a better word) and he will of course have to stay loyal as would all of us have to, i have tried that myself and it's pure agony seeing all these speculative scenarios layed out on a daily basis knowing that if he could "spill the beans" he could stop these daily theories.

Who knows it may be integration or new option(s) demands from Webroot or like hinted an issues with the cloud itself not easily fixed, all we know is that version 4 was virtually ready to start public beta & something changed enough that Joe even won't comment anymore simply because he can't. To me thats the end of the story until the beta comes....at least it's not as embarrassing a situation as the "just around the corner" Trojanhunter cloud beta! ;)

I was as appalled by Webroot sellout as the next guy, come to think of it i was probably the worst! But i will wait with the rant until the beta arrives and we perhaps will find all sorts of useless new options we cannot opt out of during the install.

Here is what their marketing team knows. It does not matter if it is under the Prevx or Webroot name, if it is called a suite or stand alone. They know that if they build it, you will buy it! Simply because of the long standing relationship folks have had with Prevx and now the added anticipation of a combined product with Webroot. The long wait is all part of their strategy and master plan.

:isay: Try and deny/resist it, I dare you!

I will resist, resistance is not futile :p From what I've seen so far Webroots products don't belong to the best in comparisons and tests, so I'll stay with Prevx's own product(which probably can be called kind of a suite anyway since they were hinting at a firewall for v4.)

My point is that it will no longer be just Prevx's own product. How long do you think Webroot is going to continue marketing Prevx as a stand alone product?

Answer: Until the release of version 4!

    vojta,

See, this is what happens when you focus on just one sentence from a post:eek:

The headline reads: Webroot buys Prevx, simply to continue marketing a security product to some of the members of Wilders Security Forums, specifically, sub topic: Official Prevx Support Forum:rolleyes: :D

    P.S.
Did you really count all the forum members?:D
You do realize that both companies may actually have business, enterprise or government clients!

Now that you mention.....I saw Obama a bit concerned yesterday, when we were playing ping-pong. Maybe it has something to do with this.

o_O Seriously, are you telling me that this forum and the debate over the next Prevx/Webroot release is less important than current world events?

    Silly, I tell you.

Certainly there is no comparison to the importance of this debate vs the Gaza Strip opening, Osama bin Laden raid, or the tornado's ravishing the mid west of the United States.
