    Well, back again.

The good folks at Sunbelt/GFI Software have graciously given a discount code for all Wilders members and others.

It is good for 50% off VIPRE Antivirus and VIPRE Antivirus Premium.

    The code is WildersSecurity

It is good until May 31, 2011.

On behalf of all the members here, I want to thank them for their generous offer. This is a very good deal.:thumb:

Thanks for sharing Jeff. I am sure Bellgamin would be delighted.

You need to add "s" after Wilder.

    WildersSecurity is the code. :)

cool, i might jump on this.
my beta key ran out for premium, and they did not supply a new one.
my existing key was for the av only. so i figured i would try avast.
but i really liked the vipre premium while i was using it.

You're terrific for working these deals with the vendors, Jeff.
Nobody does it like you. :thumb:
And a big show of appreciation to GFI Software for their generosity!
I just purchased a 2 PC, 2 YR Premium license less than 30 days ago.
I've already received excellent support from GFI and feel like I am getting my money's worth, even though I can't take advantage of the 50% discount.
But I'll spread the word to friends!
    ;)

Good Afternoon ! Trjam many thanks...your the best. Just wondering my license for Vipre Premium ends March 2012, any chance of extending it...or is this for new licenses only ? Here's hoping...Sincerely...Securon

Good offer!! Thanks trjam... I tried VIPRE in the past and it worked very well.. the only thing I don't like about VIPRE is that when you connect to the internet it doesn't update itself to the latest virus signatures until 1 hour after. Not like avast, that automatically when you turn on your pc it updates itself.

    Wow, great question.
I think I'd go for a 3rd year for both PCs if I could get the discount.
    How do I find out?

I'm wondering if the license can be used at any stage after purchasing it, or whether the license time period starts as soon as the license is purchased. Might be a question for Nick to answer next time he's around.

It starts when you buy it. Why would it be any different? It is just a discount, it doesnt change the stipulations with a license that is bought, just the price.

I think that is incorrect...It starts from the date you activate. ;)

P.S. I am sure NickHSunbelt from GFI Sunbelt will clarify.

Until then, it takes two clicks (tray icon and pop up menu) to update.
    And the download is FAST

My license was due for renewal in FEB 2010, also I was in the middle of beta testing. So, I took advantage of this super offer in November 2009. See screenshot

When my license expired in FEB 2010, I activated the license I bought in November, and when that expired in FEB this year, I was ready to go again with a 2 year license I received in March 2010 as a reward for my beta testing efforts. :)

Good Evening ! Just an update...when I tried to extend my subscription through Vipre Premium's Gui it states that you can do so only within thirty days of expiring...in my case February 2012. But I just might contact GFI/Sunbelt to see if there's an alternate method...or good ol' Plan B...LOL. If you don't ask you'll never know. Sincerely...Securon

Does the discount also include CounterSpy? I'm currently a Nod32 user for A/V and I used to use SAS for real-time until I figured out how poor it's real-time performance is and thus switched to CounterSpy and am still within 30 day trial. So far I'm impressed.

I use Vipre AV myself and like it, but my licence doesn't end until November so will have to wait and see if I can 'buy now, use later''.

I always update manually twice a day and the only thing about it which bugs me is that if the update fails, you have to download the whole database again as it resets to zero. Over 60mb can take a while to do.
