Yes, so it seems. I'll try and see if I can find the thread where it was mentioned. I think it was one when AVG 2011 products line came out.

But, the oddity is not Identity Protection detecting more malware samples than the AV component; the oddity is Identity Protection to detect known malware. :D That should be their AV component's task, not the behavior blocker. Their behavior blocker should be protecting systems against unknown malware, by monitoring processes behavior. Which in turn, comes in the line of what user Matthijs5nl says:

It should complement an antivirus by protecting the user system against unknown malware, not known. There's little point in doing that, otherwise why would AVG have an AV? :D

By the way Matthijs5nl, for this

You/anyone can try this avenue and give your suggestion for a stand alone version. Who knows, right? Unfortunately, they're against people making suggestions/ideas in their free forum. They do have a suggestions/ideas forum section, though. lol

Is there still no possibility to uninstall PC Analyzer, LiveKive and Family Safety? :doubt:

Well, how about the other two? (Not that I would ever install this, waaaay too big thing for me. Just in case someone insisted on using it.)

As far as I know you have to pay for Family Safety as well :doubt: LiveKive? I don't know ...

However - I think you should get all components if you buy AVG IS

The online storage (beta) is free (and broken when I last tried.)

However, I do not want to pay for anything. The original question was whether those components can be omitted during install or at least uninstalled later:

I guess they still haven't bothered to fix the retarded GUI flashing on WinXP. Makes you wonder what the hell are they doing there...

Has AVG Free 2011 improved in terms of detection and resource usage? Is anybody using it or have tested it recently?

The changelog doesn't mention anything about this new component.

I was never a fan of the old AVG but I've been using the latest free version for over a month (despite having a KIS licence) and have to say I am really impressed with it.
