Looking forward to it Steve. :thumb:

With all due respect, I'm glad that Steve is notifying "us" about new projects. Are you ready to sign up yet? You've gotten 3 glowing reviews, and if you want me to wait 25 days (one month minus 5 days since I signed up) before I give you my full review, I'll be happy to. But so far so fabulous. :thumb:

Five days before today is March 31, which is when I signed up. The quote you gave was on March 26. Why would you give a quote I made a week and a half ago?

    Need I say more.

I wish you luck IM in whatevery direction you choose to proceed. I believe nix and I told you Xerobank probably wasn't for you a while ago.

It seems we wily veterans have amassed some knowledge in our time on this forum. If you'll recall, I suggested 5 days ago that you start a new thread to help you find that elusive VPN that will satisfy you. Perhaps you could try that now. :thumb:

p.s. While I'm quite satisfied with Xerobank, there are some individuals that must travel that long, windy road before they find that one VPN that they can call their own. :'(

"Glowing reviews"? Hmmm, I checked that out for my self. I do see a Caspian review with almost no substance, I see your review based on a few days use (my first month or so I had no complaints at all about Xerobank either), and a third review that does contain substance and is, indeed, useful. There are many threads where Caspian has jumped at each new promise from Steve on new Xerobank features; he easily forgets (and probably doesn't care) that some of these promised events don't evenuate on time, eventuate in a lesser form, or don't eventuate at all.

With all due respect, you're beginning to sound a bit like a pro-xerobank troll, only because you keep prodding with statements like "ready to sign up yet?" This thread overall would profit by having more nitty gritty details and less rhetoric. It's hard to tell if Xerobank's connections are reliable at present or not, since those with problems are the only ones likely to speak out and they could be in the small minority for all we know.

So HideMyAss is a full VPN that covers all protocols? And what do they say about logs?

Connection problems I had with Xerobank were frequent. In the end I attributed it to my own limitations in getting anything faster than dialup speeds where I live (broadband is not available nor is good wireless). Xerobank's insistence in encrypting everything may have caused some of this problem. Also, using Firefox 2 (or is it 3?) seemed to make things worse because at slow internet connection speeds, Firefox frequently has brief freezeups. Typically I'd end up waiting for a page to appear and not getting it at all. I can't say what the internet connections are like in developing countries, but I'm sure they're no better than what I've got. When Xerobank advertises services available for journalists, etc., in Iran, Iraq, etc., I can't help but think that they'd run into the same problems that I did and that Xerobank is so secure that it's frequently unworkable if you have a slow internet hookup.

There. I hope I've provided you with a little more substance than the forever-positive and optimistic Caspian postings and the recent pseudo sales pitches of I No More.

@Internet Meltdown. I think his answer to your last question is clear. I felt the same way. And why would you discount my opinion, which was based recent evidence, when you rely on anonymous reviews from 2007, in your critique of xb?

I have been utilizing xB for close to two years & have only had occasional issues & those revolved around their "upgrading". I had written Wizard on three separate occasions in December & had responses or, at least, the issues "fixed" within 24 hrs. I first used xB on an older desktop with Windows XP Professional & later on a laptop with Vista 32-bit, & lastly a desktop with Windows 7 64-bit--In other words NO fancy set-ups. My primary IP is COMCAST with speeds ranging from 25-30ms to a local server testing with "Speedtest.net". I won't get into my speeds with my various xB connections but I do move (on occasion) large files (upload & download) & have had good download/upload speeds over the two years. Yes, I DID experience some deterioration in speeds occasionally over the past few months but changing connections resolved the issue. The following are the connections I presently use:

    Turbo Privacy Netherlands
    Turbo Privacy Random
    USA to Canada
    Canada to Netherlands
    Netherlands to Canada

I do admit that when I utilize the "Random" connections I have to hit the "reconnect" button once or twice to get the TCP connection but I realize that's because it use to randomly connect to either a USA or Netherlands exit node.

Each of us has our own prerequisites when choosing a "service"; however, xB meets MY needs & I have been very satisfied over the course of the past two years. I even used xB when I was traveling through Costa Rica in early 2010 & had excellent service from ALL of the WiFi connections I encountered. I even had excellent results with "streaming video" for TV series & movies from the USA (no buffering). Also, I have NO issue with waiting for their "upgrade" to the service & will wait patiently until it "rolls-out".

Anyway InternetMeltdown that's just MY opinion & I'm trying to be as honest as I can be per your request for "feedback" from current xB customers. I hope it helps! :thumb:

I'll let you answer your own question:
Almost all reviews I have found are dated no more recently than my own. And mine has a real name attached to it.

As for "me doing the same", do you really expect me to jump through this particular hoop for you? The Internet Meltdown circus doesn't really hold any appeal for me. But you can wake me up when something exciting happens.
