On two occasions I have voiced my frustrations with an issue I have with Pevex but because I am loud about my frustrations it would seem Prevex Help feels it is beeter to ignore customers who have issues than at the very least talk to them Ive just uninstalled Prevex and installed another product and will not be recomending Prevex to anyone.
This is a shame because it is a very good product, shame about Customer Relations.

I'm sorry if you feel that you've been mistreated - I haven't seen any threads started by you but in looking at your user account posts, I found a post in "4.0 beta release date" regarding blocking websites and closing the browser. I didn't see that post previously because that thread is quite large and primarily filled with people speculating about 4.0, not with issues that they've experienced in 3.0. This forum and the threads on it are best used for general issues and you can directly submit a bug to this thread https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=245352 which I am subscribed to so I'll receive an immediate notification.

Our policy with blocking URLs in 3.0 is to close the browser. It is designed this way because it is highly likely that if the user has just visited a malicious/phishing website, they were probably on some exploited or malicious website previously and it is generally safest to close the entire browser. Prevx 4 circumvents this by tracking active sessions and closing only the tabs that must be closed so you will see an improvement in 4.0 but in 3.0 it is intentionally designed this way.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if this isn't the issue to which you were referring. Sorry again if you feel you've been mistreated - I unfortunately only have two eyes and two hands so it is possible I may miss individual posts from time to time :)

Thankyou very much, I was only after communication, and Iam very happy with the response and will probably go back to Prevex when v4 comes out because the way v3 is regarding the browser issue is far to frustrating for me.:thumb: :thumb:

PS: This may be partly my fault because I posted in the wrong place.

    Thanks Nessy

Interesting. May I ask why you don't show a Block page like all the other vendors that has an Http scanner/Web scanner or similar feature?

I mean, you could show a Block Page so people actually understands that they tried to visit a bad URL but include a timer with a message like (your browser will be closed in 10, 9, 8..etc), instead of just closing the browser with out notice.

I actually think that I also would get quite frustrated if I had no clue about why the browser suddenly closes, one could start thinking about if there is something wrong with the browser it self etc.....

To be honest, I think it's a weird policy to just close the browser :)

    Cheers!

We don't just close the browser - we show a block page with a button "Block" that will then close the browser. If it is a false positive, they can click Allow :)

Glad to hear it, although you could disable SafeOnline in the meantime if you still want the antimalware protection of Prevx 3 without any browser monitoring :)

Everyone always talks about consumer rights, but this thread is a perfect example of why companies need protection from the consumer as well...

...I think it is self-explanatory...if I have an unrelated complaint about a product and I post that complaint in a long thread that is totally unrelated to my issue, it's not the moderator's (PrevxHelp) fault for not seeing it.

Oh I see, I didn't see that mentioned anywhere that you showed a Block page, but now I understand that you do wich is good.:)

But I actually didn't thought you had a URL blocking feature since I have never seen that Block Page with Block/Allow that you are talking about in any test of Prevx posted on YouTube for example. So it doesn't seem that Prevx is relying much on the URL blocking, wich I think it should since it's a good prevention feature.

Can you say how SafeOnline in Prevx 4 will handle these bad web pages?

Prevx 4 allows you to close just that tab (or the originating tab if it comes from a group of potentially malicious websites) and once blocked, a URL is blocked from any application (so you can prevent Zeus from uploading data, for example).
