I have been a registered user of LnS since 2005, and suddenly my XP 32 computer freezes at random with a Blue Screen of Death. I have version 2.07 of Look and Stop installed. The blue screen points to lnsfw.sys as the cause of the error. I have noticed that a problem existed with lnsfw.sys causing BSOD in a 2009 thread in this forum, but I did not find a solution. Has this error been solved? On my system I have both lnsfw.sys and lnsfw1.sys and thought this might be a problem. Is an updated driver available?
Phant0m, I regret that I haven't allowed mini dumps on this system, so I will need to wait until the next BSOD before I can send that. I don't know if this helps, but the file and version info I have for the drivers is as follows: lnsfw.sys: file version 5.0.0.5, product version 5.05 lnsfw1.sys: file version 4.0.0.6 (4.06 built by: WinDDK), product version 4.06 lnsfw.sys is digitally signed
Phant0m, the Blue Screen finally happened again. Here is the memory dump info: VER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Technical Information: STOP: 0x000000D1 (0xBA4CC277, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xBA1FE00B) lnsfw.sys - Address BA1FE00B base at BA1F800 Datastamp 4AC71763
Phant0m/Frederic, can you help with the lnsfw, sys crashes I posted about? The details of the error was sent last April, but no response.
Hi daniel952, The information you posted is not sufficient, I need the actual minidump file. Regards, Phant0m``
That info on its own only indicates a possible driver conflict. You would need to go through your system to check what drivers are being loaded. (Drivers possibly from other security applications that you have installed, or have had installed). With a mini_dump available, there are some applications that can view the file, such as "Bluescreenview" which can help trace the problem. - Stem
