    Hi,

Yesterday I did a license renewal for my 3 computers (2 PC's and a Mac). When I came home today and did an update for the desktop PC the NOD icon went back to green and shows the new 2012 valid date. I then booted up the HP laptop and its NOD icon came up green right away and showed the 2012 date.

But my Mac (which funny enough had been showing a count down expiration date of 1 day less that the 2 PC's had been showing over the last week or so) still has the yellow icon, say the license has expired and will not go green.

Is there something different I need to do for the Mac to accept the updated renewed license?

    Thanks
    Logan

Seems no one at ESET has a good answer for me as well. I have been emailing back and forth but they don't seem to understand my simple question. A first reply back was the my Mac uses a different version of NOD than my PC (well hello I know that).

Anyway getting ridiculous at this point. I do realize that I renewed for 3 PC's but my user name and password DID work on my Mac for 3 or 4 months. The same username and password I was using on my 2 PC's. My question to ESET is can the same username and password I just bought be used on both my Mac and PC (I know it can as I just described). Not sure why that is hard to answer.

If they come back with me needing to buy a 4th license for the Mac then I am done with NOD on the Mac. I see no reason to have a separate username and password for a PC and a Mac.

    "..
How do I purchase licenses for my business which runs both PC and Mac?
ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 BE for Mac licensing and seat count is the same as for our Windows products.
    .."

Not sure if or if at all it applies to Home version

    Cudni,

Thank you for the reply and the link. I would hope it applies to the home version. I know that it "works" since I had been doing it. Would just like to get an official answer from ESET. Just makes no sense to me to say anyone would have to have a separate username/password for your PC and Mac.

If they do insist they should at least give it to me as my 3rd license since I did in good faith renew for 3 - two PC's and my one Mac. If not then I will find something different for my Mac and then consider next year on renewing with NOD or not.

Well it appears ESET does not allow the same username/password for the PC and Mac although they did not even try to give me a reason why not. They suggest I go to the reseller I renewed with. Not sure what they could do as I doubt they can override ESET policy.

I feel this is a very short sighted and unfriendly policy towards the home consumer. I have just emailed the reseller to see if there is something we can work out.

But I will not pay more money for a 4th license for the Mac, I will just find another AV. I hope he will let me convert one of my PC licenses to a Mac license and call it even. I know he does not have to but I have been a customer of his for a few years now so we will see how he handles it, which in turn will determine who I renew with next year for the 2 PC's I have.
