Right click scan by RSS 2011

I am using RSS 2011 as my complementary antimalware for some time and quite impressed. When will we be able to see right click extension scan?

Shell integration is not on the current road map. Not because it is not useful, but because of the way RSS is designed to work while the Virtual Mode is active and the assumption is that a user will simply restart the computer should a VG warning be shown.

you can however simulate a right click "scan with" by using the custom scan option within the Full Scan feature. To do this:

1. Open the Virus Guard > Scan > Full Scan > My files only > then uncheck the default "areas to scan" settings. Next, select the "Scan defined files and folders" option and then use the "Define List" link to open the Custom Scan list.

2. Use the applicable browse button to add the target file and/or folder and then click "OK"

3. Click the "Start Scan" button

The scan itself will progress quickly from that point. After the custom scan is finished, simply uncheck the custom scan option, re-check the default scan option, and then close button.

I hope this will be implemented the right click features because what if the suspected file is in the drive, obviously, that this drive is not protected because RSS only protected the system drive, and you want to scan it before keep it for example.

Where the file is located is not as important as you are thinking here. By default, the Virus Guard will scan ALL new content and newly activated content. This means that when you connect that USB stick, the Real Time monitor is going to check the files in that USB stick and if you try to activate or open that file, the VG will check it.

When you are concerned about a specific file on a drive already connected, simply use the custom scan option in the full scan feature to isolate and scan that file ot files if needed. Then for further assurance on the state of the file, perform a weekly Full System scan or custom scan of the specific drive or partition if you just need to check that area.
