Actually, I found out a button was created recently (after my post).
It offers quick access to disabling, testing, and information on it, but is useless for me.

Removing it by dragging it into customize toolbar window didn't work, it reappears on every new window. Therefore, I dragged it on an empty toolbar and hid that.

Someone I know installed it and now wants to uninstall it. Is the uninstaller in the Windows AddRemove or do you just use the Firefox Add-on's Uninstaller?

    Thanks in Advance.

Does it support Chrome? According to the website it supports only IE and Firefox.

I can't tell it, for the obvious reasons - I'm not part of their team :D - but, according to their FAQ, they're planning on supporting it.

I guess you already knew that, though. :D

You guessed right. I may switch over to something else if it doesn't support Firefox 4 soon.

Removed, because it was causing connection and page rendering issues, as well as false positives.

I tried G-Data CloudSecurity for about 5 minutes and it cause Firefox to lock up, so I uninstalled it and switched to avast, trusting in their web shield, network shield, behavior shield, and auto-sandbox.

By combining Bitdefender w/ the old slow resource hungry avast v4 engine, they managed to create one of the heaviest things around. Why are they keeping this tradition with an in-the-cloud product totally avades me.

To sum up the experience, the browsing felt like the old Adblock (classic, not Plus) with about every possible filter list out there loaded on a congested connection with huge latency. Uninstalled. :ouch:

I have never encountered any browser extension/plugin which provides better protection than just some common sense, furthermore they add an annoying button or even toolbar. In other words: in my eyes all those security/privacy extensions/plugins are useless.

The only security/privacy extension which is worth the try is Adblock Plus for Google Chrome, on Mozilla Firefox 4 Adblock Plus also ain't that nice anymore. Internet Explorer 9 doesn't need any security/privacy add-on since it has the SmartScreen filter and Tracking Protection Lists.

IE9′s anti-tracking tool flawed – Microsoft should try harder

So, that brings us to the next one: Privacy protection and IE9: who can you trust?

Well, lets see how the guys describe themselves:

Wonderful. Exactly what we needed. :thumbd:

It does concern $average_joe; that is really what matters. For most people who are at least savvy enough discover the feature, it's natural to think adding everything is the best. By doing that, they will effectively nullify any other block lists this way. Seriously the TRUSTe junk is completely misplaced there and needs to be removed. More privacy is NOT about mass whitelisting advertising crap but rather the exact opposite. Did they pay MS for including them? Looks pretty likely.

If you add allow and deny rules into Windows Firewall, the deny naturally wins. Needs to be exactly the same here.

    Anyway -> off-topic here.

I do agree with you that the TRUSTe list is useless crap, and should be removed from that page.

I will agree with you that it is a fat download (primarily due to the Bitdefender signature file). However, as you will read in other threads here on Wilders, this baby sheds its' weight very quickly once it is installed. Now, with regard to the engines running in the background, we are ALWAYS reviewing the performance of other scanners. We will move to switch if it will improve our software's performance. That's one reason we don't openly discuss which engines we use (though you all know!). For the typical enduser, if we decide to make the switch, it will be totally transparent to them.

Not sure what you are doing, but it doesn't slow your browsing experience down.
