So it means you are now with 3 Engines ... and Norman is out of the game.
i prefer to NOT have this happen. Is there a way that i can prevent this change from taking place, perhaps by staying on the older version of coranti.

I think another protection module from Lavasoft was added instead instead of Norman. I could be wrong though. I think it was a wise decision of Coranti. Norman just doesn't cut it these days.
I respectfully disagree. Though not a top-tier av in terms of detection, i like norman av. Do i get a prompt where i can decide whether or not i want to allow this 'swap'?

    Coranti,
i really like the way the program is working. There has been a couple minor 'inconveniences'. both were problems while updating manually (it stalled). A simple restart fixed it both times.
I have never even come close to considering removal. glad i have it. :) :)

Now that a newer version is out since the last RAM usage was mentioned, can someone post their RAM usage, CPU and OS if you would please? Thank you.

    Coranti,

i thought you would like to know about this.
i opened coranti antivirus>help>update, and received an error.

"update server is currently not available! can't send HTTP request."

this happened this morning at about 8:30. it's possible that there is a problem with MY computer, but i don't think so because everything else has been working without a hitch. if you can think of anything that i can do to fix this, i would be most grateful. :)
here i have a screenshot hosted at imageshack. other than that, just minor problems updating that rebooting has always cured. still love the program though.

    My Fault.

i reset my 'date and time' clock and the update worked. my system clock was off by an hour and that must have prevented the update from taking place.

    update went perfectly.:D

Very interested in latest results. Anybody?

We're making substantial improvements in the 2011 version and hope to release within May.

Installed it on my laptop last night... Seems to run very well...

Does not seem to slow things down to much at all.

Decided to try the 30 day trial for Coranti. The detection seems amazing but I am getting a message from windows that "Coranti 2010 is on but is reporting its status to Windows Security Center in a format that is no longer supported. Use the program's automatic updating feature, or contact the program manufacturer for an updated version". I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit. For now I've disabled the messages from the action center but it would be nice not to need to do that.

Coranti uses 3 AV engines to detect malware:

    1) Bit Defender
    2) F-Protect
    3) Lavasoft

Seems interesting, G-Data uses Bit Defender + Avast and Trustport uses Bit Defender + AVG. Both of those have been highly rated in the Virus Bulletin RAP tests previously in addition to Coranti. Coranti seems to use about 180MB of memory at any one time when not scanning. When scanning it jumps to about 200-250MB of memory. That isn't very much for most modern machines but would cripple lower end computers.

Hoping that Coranti 2011 comes out sometime while I've still got the trial subscription :)

EDIT: Un-installed because the on-demand scans take several hours. It is better to just have 2 scanning engines over 3-4, just make sure that they are two effective scanning engines. Bit Defender + Kaspersky/Norton would be awesome. I also found the GUI to be abit plain/average and felt it was completely hammering my computer during scans. Their support forums don't seem to be attended either so it felt like no one was supporting the product.
