    Hello guys,

Firefox 4 is coming in a day or two. Do you want your upgrade to be smooth and painless? Perhaps you ought to take a look at this short guide explaning how to configure Firefox 4 to look and behave like older versions, including Status bar, tabs on top/bottom, file menu, addons, themes, and other fixes.

    Cheers,
    Mrk

OK, just a quick question. Is it best to upgrade Fx 4 over Fx 3.6, or a fresh clean install?

    Whaddya reckon?

you can install over but imo going to a whole new version i would personally do a clean install. even a few people in the forums had some issues going over top of the older version

OK thanks zfactor, I'll have to think about it. You're probably right. I remember having problems with the upgrade from Fx 2 to Fx 3. I ended up having to make a clean install.

Reports are out saying the final version is available here. (File hashes are the same as RC2.)

Something that has been bothering me since the beta's:

Does anyone know how (of if) to get the "Bookmarks" button to stay on the main (navigation) toolbar WHEN the bookmarks toolbar is active?

It automatically drops from the nav toolbar to the bookmarks toolbar which looks horrible (to me).

Just a very tiny thing that gets under my skin...

    Thanks :)

you should be able to use the customize by right clicking on the bar and then dragging the button to the top bar.

Nope. First thing I tried way back in the beta's. It seems to be hardcoded into the bookmarks toolbar...

Yeah, same problem here... Oh well, might get used to it after a while.
Running FF with Menu bar turned off and Tabs on top: we'll see how that goes (Tabs on top might get annoying because I have rocketdock topwise as well)

Does anyone know what happened to middle click page "scrolling" (middle click+ mouse movement down/up)? Seems to be disabled.

    Thanks. :) I'm blind apparently .:p

Added: Hm, autoscroll doesn't stop on mouse scroll like in previous versions but only on middle(/left/right) click again. Little bit annoying but oh well, no big deal. :)

    Firefox 4 FINAL:

"Firefox 4.0 has been finalized and the bits are now available for download to all users, despite the fact that Mozilla has yet to announce the launch of the next generation of its open source browser.

Firefox 4.0 Final is now live on the browser vendor’s FTP servers, and will probably be announced officially either later today or tomorrow, March 22nd, 2011, as initially planned. "

Do Not Click--Just wait for download:

Man, I can't believe they still haven't fixed the Private Browsing Mode.
Why do I have to close all open windows to use it? This is ridiculous. :thumbd: :thumbd: :thumbd:

Use some other browser. A lot of folks like IE9 and Chrome.
