    The address in your browser says "alpha.xerobank.com" (which doesn't work at all for me) isn't the forum just going to be at xerobank.com?? It's definitely still down for me here too.

    So, Steve, when will the DNS update? I'm assuming we're accessing the forum at the old link, or, is there new address? All I presently see is the old butterfly banner at the privacy forum.

    I don’t think that SteveTX intends to refund money to anyone or to suspend billing for existing customers for three months (see post #549 on page 22 of this thread). Doing so, however, would certainly be a gesture of goodwill to compensate customers for the inconvenience endured, in my opinion.

    global dns propagation can take up to 24 hours, but is usually propagated within 6 hours.

    IP address should work though, right?

    Maybe those who want it could try access by typing in the IP.

    @ SteveTX

    https://alpha.xerobank.com = No show yet for me yet either in the UK. But as you say, it could be just a DNS propagatation issue, which "should" resolve itself sooner rather than later ;)

    Your screenie shows HTTPS crossed out :eek: Why is that ? Also it clearly shows that it's over 29 weeks since any posts were made !

    x1.gif

    https://xerobank.com = Shows super fab encryption though :thumb:

    x2.gif

    Hope you got your **** together this time :p

    I tried typing in the IP address, but that did not work either.

    Well, it likes like the DNS propagation (for me) is leaning more towards 24 hours! :( So, I'll call it a night & I hope by the time I check-in tomorrow I (we) will be in "business"! :cool:

    Just two quick questions about that:
    - What happens if you get complaints about torrents? Will the account just be deactivated?
    - What about the Xerobank anonymous e-mail addresses, what jurisdiction do they "belong" to in regard to complaints for example in the context of the DMCA or so?

    --

    and about the whole relaunch thing:
    You can't even see anything new with the Xerobank DNS-servers... hope that's not even yet another excuse.
    Well, let's see what of all the promised things we get.

    (I like Xerobank, it works great for me [except for the fact that every now and then I have to login on the website because some tokens seem to have run out for the turbo privacy servers, which is a trick documented nowhere but in the old forum for some reason], but the way promises and updates are handled is not too great)

    Not sure what's happening @ XB ? Yesterday i looked up all the below IP's. A number of them of them showed broken HTTPS warnings, due to the certificates having expired :eek: Today i redid the same tests, but couldn't reach some ? I'm sure "someone" must have the answers though :p

    https://alpha.xerobank.com = ?

    xba1.gif

    xerobank.com = Range = 88.198.80.240 - 88.198.80.247

    88.198.80.240 = The connection has timed out The server at 88.198.80.240 is taking too long to respond.

    88.198.80.241 = The connection has timed out The server at 88.198.80.241 is taking too long to respond.

    88.198.80.242 = https://xerobank.com = Fine, see my screenie in post # 647

    88.198.80.243 = https://xerobank.com = See directly above

    88.198.80.244 = https://client.xerobank.com = The connection has timed out The server at 88.198.80.244 is taking too long to respond.

    red.gif

    88.198.80.245 = 404

    245 = 404.gif

    88.198.80.246 = ?

    red - 246.gif

    246.gif

    88.198.80.247 = The connection has timed out The server at 88.198.80.247 is taking too long to respond.

    Notice several of these www's were Not HTTPS ?

    Hi Steve,

    Good to hear things are running soon. Will Clarion / safehouse / etc be available for purchase soon, or is it just the forums returning today?

    A DNS problem seemed improbable when someone tried the IP address, and even that didn't work. Besides, if it were DNS, you'd think someone would have gotten on by now.

    Looks like Steve has some kinks to work out.

    Steve,

    How did you "hit" alpha.xerobank.com using DNS? It's more than 24 hours after you wrote this, and alpha.xerobank.com remains "unknown host":

    $ traceroute alpha.xerobank.com
    traceroute: unknown host alpha.xerobank.com

    xerobank.com itself is now "off-line", as noted elsewhere on the thread.

    If you were connecting to a test site on a LAN (i.e., alpha.xerobank.com, beta.xerobank.com), why would you mention DNS not propagating?

    Tried the range of IP's again 88.198.80.240 - 88.198.80.247

    Either time out, or as yesterday :eek:

    a.gif

    b.gif

    c.gif

    Speculation is one thing, but confirmation as to Exactly what the situation is "might" help to dampen that ! If there's a problem, then it's better people know than not ASAP, for XB and everyone :thumb:

    Correct; according to the dates on the screenshot from Steve's post on March 1st, Steve and Xerobank have had 29 weeks and 3 days to come up with some real data or information. Were it not for wasting other people's time, it would be funny.

    Websites online and the forums are up.
    Edit: But I can't find any information on Clarion? Seems to have a slick website, and just the personal Xb offering.
    Is Clarion still launching March 1?

    Well, I finally got to the new forum page; however, it wouldn't take my password for the forum. So, I'll call it a night since I haven't seen a reply regarding a new password that the site indicated that it sent.

    To get to the forum I entered: 88.198.80.242 which took me to the HOME page. Then I "clicked" on "Xerobank Forum". :thumb:

    I'm in no hurry regarding the forum since it just has all the OLD posts!

    Whew, that was fun.

    Website publicly accessible on the normal domain, DNS issues settling down. Anyone who needs access to their forum account before we finish the auto-reset procedures (~48 hour estimate) contact me with your forum name and I'll verify the email account and reissue. Otherwise, you should be able to create new accounts.

    Welcome Back

    Site improvements look nice, but most worryingly the new login page rejects my username and password for my actual XB account. Luckily I can still go to https://activate.xerobank.com/auth/login and log in.

    I noticed the Website server is hosted in Chicago, IL USA. It was located in Germany before if I remember correctly. Any reason for the change? Wouldn't that make it much easier for your domain the be seized by US jurisdiction. The US has been really crazy about seizing domains at will lately without due process.

    The issue of the xB site forum rejecting usernames/passwords is explained by Steve at the Forum under ANNOUNCEMENTS with the heading: WELCOME BACK. The following is a copy of the 1st. bullet point:

    1. Unlocked forum accounts. We've kept all the old posts and accounts, but we'll be doing resets on the account passwords soon for users. This means if you had an account prior, you'll soon be getting an email telling you to update your password. After that, you'll have full access back into your account. Message me directly if you want your password reset sooner, or just create a new account and we'll merge it back for you later.

    We've got the legacy site still in place and the new site at the same time. Complicated black magic. With the creation of new accounts, forum and access accounts will be merged.

    Sure. We're getting ready to implement geographic load-balancing. USA users will be able to hit a webserver in the US, and EU users will be able to hit an EU server so their respective experience is the same but faster.

    Ha no. Infact, such unethical actions will soon be mitigated when we release a later version of safehouse this year.
