Hushmail is a great introduction and adjunct to encrypted communication. It is perfect for groups that want to establish a simple encrypted communication network, for instance. The fact that people discourage its use over nothing baffles me, and I can only suppose that those who do so have an agenda. People and organizations who need more tend to figure this out rather quickly, and are in an even better position to plan accordingly when they have used Hushmail or other encrypted webmail first. If nothing else, it gives them a staging platform from within which to teach others about pgp and anonymity, so their network is not formulated completely in the open.
