I renewed my AIS licence with this code.It would have been too expensive otherwise ,and i probably would have used something else or went free.

I love the idea of auto-sandbox, just liek CIS. CIS is not for novice users. I am thinking to install Avast for all of my friends who request for a free VA. So far I am installing Antivir but after addition of an autosandbox function, avast looks more nice n promising than Antivir. I expect this feature to be polished more n more with time.

    Thanks aigle for the screenshots:)

AIS 6.0 is running fine so far and no slowdowns:) In 5.1 I had the issue of real time protection turning off at startup. But this seems to be solved in 6.0:thumb:

I am wondering how soon they will do their first round of fixes. I am considering waiting. Any ideas?

there arent any serious bugs really (minus the Outpost issue) from what i can see, just a few minor corrections and annoyances need fixing.

In the "Statistics" pane, it says I need Adobe Flash Player and gives a link to download it...I have Flash, updated in fact. I didn't see a Twitter button, and I still don't know what or where this supposed "gadget" is, but the Like button just gets at me. Maybe I shouldn't holler when Avast is both free and damned good, but man I wish all this social media crap didn't have to be inserted into everything.

Ok, i haven't been following closely. But Apart from Sandbox and WebRep, are there any other changes related to protections? Such as faster scanning engine, better Heuristics, etc...

And are the Sandbox and WebRep similar if not exactly the same as function provide by Norton IS? ( I think Norton has a White List of Apps and Norton Toolbar function similar to WebRep )

Norton doesnt have any sandbox technology....norton just blocks or allows applications...no sandbox like environment for suspicious apps
and norton's safe web blocks malicious websites...whereas webrep is like wot..we can rate sites and the web/network shield block bad sites

as for faster scanning...avast is already fastest in that department
and to better the detection rates this sandbox has been applied for better zero day catching

and for better understanding webrep look at this

Less visible features are Auto Sandbox which works based on heuristics and Behavior Shield upgrade where opposed to 5.1 passive observation, can now make automated decisions in 6.0. In other words, these two features are designed to combat 0-day threats.

True, but in my eyes avast!´s heuristics aren´t exactly the best in the industry (my opinions get's reflected in several tests, such as AV-Comparatives Retrospective), so the AutoSandboxing will still miss a lot of threats.

That's not entirely true, heuristics in avast! are incredibly fast and flexible, however AVAST team is aiming precision opposed to massive detection.
And to be honest it's working. I haven't seen a single false positive generated by heuristics so far and i've seen few behavior based heuristic detections so far.
SuspBehav detections that is. It will also gain detection throughout the following month or two.

but can i decide which program send to sandbox ?
    for example firefox?

The free version only has the AutoSandboxing.
The paid versions have the "on-demand" Sandbox (which you mean) and SafeZone.

And avast! Internet Security also has a firewall and antispam; so you directly have a comparison of the features in all versions.

    Weird.

I was considering purchasing the pro version just for the hell of it (I'm happy with MSE), but for some reason their product is $15 more in Canadian dollars than in US$.

Considering our dollar is trading higher than the US right now, I can't get my head around that one.

I wonder if I change my region on their site to US, and proceed to checkout, if I'll get the lower price?

Just change the currency to US Dollar and enjoy the savings. It's the same here yet DR still charge 30% more in Australian Dollars.

Yep. It worked like I thought it would. With the discount, $18USD. Not bad :)
