well I know Dr web, read about the difference in recomended settings and paranoid. Recomended is very light but is crap on active protection. Paranoid is what should be used but it makes your PC feel like it has bricks on it.

Yeah, I would like to know as well. I use MR and it seems fine, other than slow restore, but I've read reviews and Paragon seems to suffer from slow restores as well.

 

I believe one of the difference is : paragon free has incremental backup (backup the changes only)

 

whats the difference between incremental backup and differential backup ?

i just tried out paragon and its slower than macrium
and it has differential backup feature which takes even more time than normal backup
instead of doing diff backup it will be much faster to do a normal backup

 

Ah my bad, I mean paragon free has differential backup.

In general differential backup does take longer to be done

On my old XP I used Kerio FW and was v happy with it, gutted it will not run on Win 7. I would try Online Armor FW but I have read of people having conflicts with Avast.
My trial for Emisoft AntiMalware coming to end - not sure whether I need it??
I'm still trying to decide what I think of Microsoft Security Essentials.....as it's MS isn't it a target for those who hate MS on principle?

I am looking for a firewall. I had OA when I was on 32 bits and liked it, but it was a resource hog and slowed my PC down. I am thinking about trying Outpost or PrivateFirewall... Any suggestions?

I'm currently looking to change the setup just a little bit, as I get to work on my new computer. L'n'S is a great firewall, but I have been wondering if the default Windows Firewall would be enough? How troublesome it is with outbound protection to a user which needs to permit new programs on regular basis?

I also haven't found out if No Autorun works with 64-bit systems, could someone verify this for me? SourceForge has a folder for 64-bit version, but it seems outdated.

Edit: Also looking to use App Guard. Would you recommend it on 64-bit yet?
