Just tried to update, and it also offered KB2387530 and KB2484033 (both important) plus also KB2488113 (optional). Total download only 61.8MB, but it was coming through so slowly that I gave up and will try later. Guess there is a
huge load on the servers right now?

I got all three of them through, then an update to .NET - must have been before the rush started :)

So it appears that the version leaked the other week was the RTM after all.

Indeed. I checked the MD5 checksums on both the leaked and the official versions (x86 in my case) and were identical.

Why the heck hasn't Microsoft made available separate SP1 packages for each Windows version?

I got to download nearly 2GB just to get the Windows 7 32 and 64-bit versions to slipstream them. Bummer. lol

Why the heck you did not check that Microsoft has made separate SP1 packages for each 32-bit and 64-bit Windows version ?

SP1 is now available through Windows Update.

    Installed with no issues.

Sadly, and as expected, the most boring SP in Windows history, I think ;)

    Re: Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (KB976932)

If they exist, they appeared way after they put the nearly 2GB that contains both 32-bit and 64-bit for Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2. They weren't there yesterday; at least, not at the moments I looked for. Not really my fault, uh?

Next time, perhaps, Microsoft just should provide all links, instead of just providing one. How difficult would it be? After all, the nearly 2GB version contains all separate ones.

Perhaps, next time you should rather ask if at the time a person checks, all links are provided?

Always not your faults, it's always Microsoft (should provide all links) and someone's else (should ask @x#! first) faults.;) :p

Tried to update twice yesterday via Windows Update and I couldn't get past 16% the first time and 19% the second time (around midnight PST).

I've tried again today and each time it's stuck @ 0% and not even moving.

How are all of you updating to SP1 via Windows Update?

@Birdman: On my virtual machine it worked fine, but my physical machine failed to update that way. Try downloading SP1 from Microsoft and manually installing it. That worked for me.

Thanks for your reply. I'm using Windows Home Premium x64. Which version of SP1 do I install?
