    Wow Norton is awesome. I had NIS 2011,and then I tried the beta 360v5. I really liked it. I had 149 days left on my subscription for NIS 2011 and talked to there support people. I was able to upgrade to 360 v4 and they added on my 149 days left from NIS. I now have over 500 days on my Norton product. I did trial a couple other security suites but they just didn't hold up to the test.. I would defiantly recommend Norton. Easy to install,low on resources,it's just good. Years ago I would not have recommended Norton,but times have changed and Norton has improved.

    Norton 360
    Hitman pro
    Mbam
    SAS
    keyscrambler
    Window 7 32 bit
    2.0 ghz
    4 gig ram

    Wow, it's nice that they added the days left on your NIS license to your 360 one :D

    Which one prevx or geswall? I can't wait for geswall. One of my favorite apps. Currently I can't use it due to some issue with trusting files and UAC.
    Oh I dropped mamutu. DIdn't see a need for it and it wasn't doing too much. It was hanging a little too long at start up too. One of the things that I hated about EAM 5. It seemed like it would take forever to load.

    Since you already have Sandboxie I think I would lean towards Prevx. With EAM 5 on my machine I really don't notice any slowdowns at start up. No more than when I was using KAV.

      • Windows Firewall disabled
      • Windows Defender disabled
      • User Account Control (UAC) at default level
      • Data Execution Prevention (DEP) enabled for all programs and services
      • Structured Exception Handling Overwrite Protection (SEHOP) enabled
      • Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate
        • Protected Mode enabled
        • SmartScreen filter enabled
        • Tracking Protection enabled
        • ActiveX Filtering enabled
    • ESET Smart Security
    If they improve Microsoft Security Essentials, a Microsoft-only setup is a possibility, especially if they can achieve Internet Explorer 9 Beta to Release Candidate like progress. It already has good capabilities in several areas, on-access performance, cleanup, protection against rootkits and the user interface for example.
    However they will have to make some serious improvements:
    • further improve update mechanism (so you don't have to use Regedit);
    • drastically improve on-demand scanning speed (especially for the Full Scan);
    • boot time;
    • add more options for fine-tuning the performance (archive handling for example);
    • improve the behavior monitoring.

    No I wasn't asking which to choose. I was inquering which was going to be out first. You may not have had an issue with EAM but I noticed a slow down when first opening the desktop.

    Appguard 3.0. All the protection I need. New version is one of the best security products so far in 2011.

    Windows 7 32 bit (may stay with 32 bit because of the architectural issue with Sandboxie and 64 bit not being quite as safe) Sandboxie makes firefox the browser of choice. However, I'm curious about 64 bit now that system is stable and that may get the best of me. :rolleyes:

    1) Removed Family Safety
    Went back to standard account with Sandboxie because of interesting discussions on this forum this week.

    2) Increased stability of system by upgrading video card (was the key to stability problem) Nvidia 7900 GS started going bad. Purrs like a kitten now.

    3) Now able to add additional ram (total 4GB/3GB usable)

    4) Acronis TI Home 2011 for imaging.

    Same here. On 7 Ult. 32 bit with SandBoxie.
    Tried 64, but moved back to 32 because of SandBoxie, only 4 GBs of RAM, and a few old games I have that ran a bit glitchy on 64.
    Will probably move to 64 with a new build with 6 GBs of RAM.

    Right now, just running SandBoxie and Zemana, along with system hardening (DEP, SEHOP, UAC, SRP).
