More regression testing continues into tomorrow morning (Thursday). If that goes well, we could release AppGuard Thursday afternoon/evening. I'll keep you updated.

    Cheers,

    Hi,
While we are waiting for the release of Appguard, I was wondering if some could clarify something for me.
I've read the official documentation and other stuff in this forum, still a couple of things are unclear to me. Appguard is a addition to the security layer (AV, AS, AM,) but the way people (who know their onions way better than I do) are talking, this is IT. Don't need anything else...
Is this the case? secondly while Appguard stops all executions of Apps, I think I'm correct in believing it does not stop bad .exe from landing on the PC?

So my scenario is bad exe lands, then waits until I invoke install mode and BOOM!!! (Gotcha!)
    Just thinking out loud...

    What do you guys think?

It can be used alone or with another program. The new version in my opinion is plenty strong to be used by itself but it is really a matter of preference. Yes a malicious file could be downloaded but it would be prevented from execution (among other things). One good argument for having a supplemental AV would be for checking downloaded files.

    Confirmed!!!

I'm in the middle of sending out a form letter to registered users that provides each of you a new license activation code. We replaced the old system.

    Cheers,

Downloaded and running smoothly. I'm so happy, Google Chrome works perfectly on XP and Win7. Great job AppGuard team!

Everything is looking good so far. The slow loading problem which was adding around 40 seconds to my boot time has now been completely eliminated.

Congratulations to the team on the new release!

Eirik or Barb, I have to ask this. What is different about this version that now allows me to launch IE with Protection Level set to High? Congrats and many thanks for a Great Security app!

Also, is it now OK for me to remove these exceptions?

    Thank Cod for Shadow Protect.
I uninstalled the old version of Appguard, rebooted and installed the new version. Everything went fine until I rebooted as directed. Then the machine would not boot. It went directly to a repair window which ran for a few minutes then the computer turned off. This happened every time I tried to restart.
I went backwards with SP in order to get my system running again.
    Any suggestions?

Yes. I was very surprised that it did because it didn't in previous version and betas.

yep, it is pretty flexible, more so then most would think. Folks should really try it out. Protection is about as good as you can get and it really is install and forget.

The release is running well here. Not that I really use the 64 bit version of IE, but now it's not possible to guard both versions of IE unless you rename one of them.

I wanted to report a bug in WinXP32bit.
After installing and rebooting, i get the register window and it asks for email and license. Pressing cancel gives this error.
Tested the same on Windows 7 64bit, no such problem there!

PS: Do the users who got a lifetime license for beta testing also get a new activation code?

I get the same error message on a 64bit Windows 7, after I provide the email address and NEW activation code. To continue I need to "exit" from te GUI.
Seeing that it works for everybody else. I was hesitant to say, but it is not working for me.
    Cheers

Barb will login later to investigate technical issues. Just to avoid possible confusion, can we assume your observation shared above is for the newly released agent (3.0.13) and not observations from the previous beta (3.0.7)?

The new license codes are for all users with license codes issued prior to 10 February 2011 7 pm EST. We've swapped out the old license code system for a newer one.

    Cheers,

    Eirik
