    Isn't it's bit pricey compared to other security suites? I'm unable to complete the trial setup because the serial key they gave in the email is "expired" when I tried to insert the trial serial key provided in the email.

    I have recently switched to FIS 11 from NIS 11. I find it lighter than Norton.

    I second that :thumb: ....Maybe "sluggish" is a good word for what I encountered with F Secure.

    NIS 11 was missing a lot of new viruses for me, so I had to do that. Even, if it's a bit sluggish, I don't mind because security comes first, and that's primarily why you buy a security suite.

    now you are contradicting your own statement that you said that its fast than NIS

    also no suite is 100% effective ... for those samples you didnt got detection just upload to virustotal and find out who detected it know actual truth

    Well, from maaany tested files on Virustotal, Symantec is one of the AVs that quite rarely has a definition. Yes, I know that it's a command-line scanner, yes I know SONAR is not tested but even when SONAR catches something, shouldn't Symantec add a definition for it? Or everything will be mostly the extremely vague WS Reputation 1?

    As i've said before, NIS performs very good in tests usually because of their new technologies that complements their AV engine (Sonar, File Rating). :D

    you are asking me as if I am symantec employee :D ...

    although definitions are added too after few days

    No, I'm talking from my own experience, confirmed by other postings in their forum as well as Pedersen's comments on his internal testing.

    @zero:

    Exactly my thoughts mate. It's always so late in adding definitions for newer threats. VT is a prime source for that.

    @Nevis:

    I ditched Norton only because of the negative attitude of its employees. I had two confirmed new viruses(confirmed by VT/Threatexpert), and when I sent the files to the concerned department, they simply failed to acknowledge them as threats. That really turned me off.

    Sher, VirusTotal and ThreatExpert can both be wrong.

    I'm experienced enough myself to know what is right and wrong. VT gives you the combined results of other vendors, and in my case, majority of them detected those files as viruses.

    The majority can and have been wrong before.

    How did you send the files?

    Good Morning ! Tried F-Secure...unfortunately...it was slow...slower...slowest ! They have too find a way too lighten up. They should contact GFI/Sunbelt...LOL. They could then cross promote...LOL ! Sincerely...Securon
