I've been using Shadow Defender for many years.
There is nothing suspicious to worry about.

I am currently trying out Sophos and it does indeed flag it as suspicious by behavior. This is most likely due to the fact that Shadow Defender is not widely used and it loads a driver. The remaining 3 AV's that actually detect it as malware (detected by signature) should not be considered as reliable evidence that Shadow Defender is malicious. Not only do these 3 have poor detection rates, but they are prone to false positives. If you are concerned enough, try submitting the SD install to those companies for further analysis. Or perhaps you could find a Wilders member that has used SD since the time it was supported and compare the checksums of the installer; this might serve to bolster confidence.

Shadow Defender is a legit program, as long as you downloaded from a trusted source I would bet that it is just some FP's from VT. Scan with some on demand scanners and check the results.

This plus I have seen security experts recommend Shadow Defender. I don't think it would be so highly regarded if it was malware.

As already stated. Download it from SD's site only, and then check the MD5 checksum. If you do this then you have nothing to worry about.

It may be how the installer is packed as well. VT isnt really very reliable in itself.

    HI,

Thank you for all the this information no matter if this has been discussed numerous times already... :D the most dump thing someone can do is NOT to ask

    BTW
Did you notice the Forum is gone?

    The Bad
Without Tony, users and the moderator tried to solve some issues, very good information were posted there

    The Controversial

Maybe because is new year in China, the forum is under maintenance, or such as said is gone forever

    The Good

I am proud member of Wilders Security Forums, and with wise members like you why do I need Expert Exchange?

    Thank you

Nobody knows where he is, maybe he is in jail, ill or died, but IMHO he is hiding, and he is behind Phantom Armor....

Since you are from China, its easier for you to sift throught the forums there and give us a clue about Tony's whereabouts?

No way! How could he be behind that crap? I tend to think he's somehow related to another great Chinese project

By the way, nice to see somebody from Mexico City. Saludos desde Ecatepec. ;)
