does GDATA give u the ability to have it always ask when it has a detection? it doesnt auto remove or decide for itself without giving me the option of changing that does it? same question for the firewall, the firewall gives an "ask" option right?

Does anyone know how to completely reset the settings to the original ones? I've managed to hide virus detection alerts and can't get them back!

"virus check" would be the ondemand scanner right? and "monitor" is realtime scanner?

    and what about the Firewall?

Depending on your system and the apps you've installed, firewall rule sets are generated . The firewall's decision depends on app specific and generall rules regarding system processes, protocols and ports. In addition scan results and information provided by the behaviour blocker influence the system's decision.

Perhaps someone running the English version could e.g. post a screenshot of the "trusted networks" rules set.

    cheers,
    Ford

Do you intend to add support for the language PT-BR?

Why does GData Antivirus 2011 not register as antispyware in Windows Security Center even though I've set GData to scan for spyware/adware?

Is there any way to use Windows System Restore with G Data Internet Security running? I'm running Win 7 Home x64 and every time I tried to go back to a restore point with G Data on my system, I got a message that the system could not be restored. I e-mailed the old USA site about it last year and got a reply that I would have to uninstall G Data completely to get System Restore to work properly. Surely there is an alternative to this?

When windows 7 came out I did an upgrade install, loads of junk on pc, have been meaning to to a clean install ever since.
I installed g data and was surprised how light it was, however...
Finally decided to do my clean install. after windows had applied the 60 or so updates I then installed g data updated and ran a full scan, all good so far. I then started to download world of warcraft, I then started to install my bits and pieces, ccleaner, jv powertools and sumatra etc.
Every program stopped responding on first run. whole system was slower than it's ever been, I know this is because i was downloading, windows was fetching and caching. however web speed and general system speed was halved.
g data is quite light as long as the system is not multi tasking. turning just engine b on didn't make any difference as I could see, removed for the time being. literally doubled the speed for everything.
3.9 gz quad with 8 gig ddr3 btw

Well, I re-submitted my question about Windows System Restore to G Data's US website (I purchased G Data Internet Security 2010 from the old USA site in 2009 and renewed it for 2 years in 2010 when I upgraded to 2011). I got an acknowledgment and a ticket #; then I got a follow-up e-mail on the ticket from support@dynamicquest.com(?) saying that they couldn't find my e-mail address in their system, the same e-mail address I used when I purchased/renewed G Data.

I'm left to wonder if customers who used the older USA site such as me are going to have problems obtaining support from this new site. Also is the helpdesk an internal G Data operation or are they sub-contracting it out to this Dynamic Quest outfit?

No. Neither with the 2011 version or the new beta.
Only running the beta of the Suite; Full scans can take a long time with the two engines but CPU never went above 75% (very briefly). It does slow things down though so best to run this at the end of the day, enabling the "switch off computer when scan finished" option.

But as with all software, best to trial on your own set-up.
