Ed, if there are any issues, will the G Data AVCleaner 2011 work with the 2012 beta?

It is good until March 15. However, it can be extended if necessary.

    size doesn't matter - lol.

The image of the linux based BootCD takes ~120 MB.

You can boot your system using this CD and scan your system without starting your windows OS.
Best method to get shot of nasties which already have infected a system.

As others mentioned, do you want bug reports here or via e-mail or PM?

AVCleaner2011 will remove 99% of it. We are close to having the AVCleaner2012 done, but I cannot give you a definitive ETA yet.

I've sent you an e-mail about G-Data 2012 not reporting to detect spyware/adware to Windows Security Center.

    I found something interesting...

The 2011 suite Engine A and the 2012 suite Engine A are identical in the log.

    BUT

The 2011 suite Engine B and the 2012 suite Engine B are different in the log.

    2011
    Engine B:Files loaded successfully.
    AVB_21.633_(21.01.2011)

    2012
    Engine B: Files loaded successfully.
    AVL_21.334_(21.01.2011)

I wonder what that's all about?

The Avast 5 engine is in the new beta 2012, while the older engine is in the 2011 version.

Custom installed just the AV after uninstalling the 2011 version.

GUI seems clearer and a few more extra options now, both for the Monitor and the Web Scanner.

The new on-execute setting for the Monitor may be a good selection trying to run the two-engines in real-time on older machines.
