Inputdirector software mistaken as port scanner

Hi,

Can anyone tell me, is it possible to disable port scanning attack detection for the local network? I use some software called "Input Director" that allows me to remotely control another PC across the LAN, basically its like having a 3 monitor setup only the 3rd monitor is actually another PC. ESS keeps detecting Input Directors attempts to connect and flagging them as port scans. I tried adding a rule that would allow all communications to and from the PC's in question but that didn't work, and in the end I had to disable port scanning detection altogether. Is there a better solution to this?

 

did you place your network in Trusted zone in Eset?

 

Have a look under Zones for 'Addresses excluded from active protection (IDS)' and add your subnet or LAN Address range to the zone.
