We are using VMWare View 4.5, Win XP SP3 linked clones, and NOD 32 v 4.2.67.10. We have about 80 linked clone VMs that can not get updates. I have recomposed our VMs several times and followed the URL listed below to no avail. We still get General Compiler Error on all 80 systems.
When I recompose the VMs, I am installing NOD32 v4 from scratch. Also, running ESETUninstaller.exe before running a clean install did not help.

I have also tried setting updates to not use a proxy server (even though it is going to the mirror server on our LAN). I have also tried using UNC instead of HTTP.

I have also recently tried updating to the the newest RA server. I did a uninstall and then a clean install. This did not help either.

I have also called NOD32 tech support and they are also stumped.

Other things that did not help:
    Error downloading update file

Is anyone else having these kinds of problems? Is there any way to escalate my support case to a higher level?

If I can't get this resolved soon, we will have to start using another product, which I don't want to do, but I have been having this problem for about a month now so I am running out of things to try.

    Thanks,
    -John

Try enabling pre-release updates so that the latest update is downloaded which should minimize the number of occurrences of this error.

    Hi jftuga,

We were wondering if enabling the pre-release updates had resolved your update issues.

    Thank you.

Enabling pre-release did not help. I don't know what else to try.

    Hi,

Please try following these instructions (yes, it is also used for a different error).
