Unfortunately I was still getting iexplorer.exe failing to launch with error 0xc0000005 even with this latest update. Reinstalling 5.0 free has fixed the problem (Windows XP Pro SP3).

Do you indeed mean iexplorer.exe or is it a typo and should it be iexplore.exe?

Sorry, it was a typo. I have 3 XP systems and 2 had this problem, oddly enough the 3rd seems to be happy running the latest 5.1.889 but the other two have gone back to 5.0 and seem to be happier there.

I was wondering why is it that sometimes AvastSvc.exe cpu spikes up and my pc hangs and freeze I could not move the mouse, browser everything that I have to wait for several seconds to a minute.

Are there any solutions for this to reduce cpu consumptions that peak up sometimes?

In the past Avast says that the network shield causing to make avast to become heavy so it can be disabled. But as of now not sure if it's still the one that causing this. I just put other real time shield things to low sensitivity.

Avast says there is a new version I hit update and NOTHING. It updates for a second or two then stops. Its been like this for 3 or so days.

It doesn't say anything? No error message? Just stops?

Do any of you experience a problem connecting to internet with a web shield enabled? Since I updated to 5.1.889, I have no internet connection. Worked perfectly fine before that.
