    * Changes in 14.0.913.0:
    * Performance improvements in InvisiTasking related to 8+ core systems and eliminating unnecessary context switching.
    * Fixed I-FAAST measurement that would fail on some busy systems and consequently keep getting rescheduled.
    * Improved defragmentation process to avoid keeping extremely fragmented files open for long periods of time.
    * Fixed problem with occasionally incorrectly detecting the Volume Shadow Copy state.
    * Improved the SSD detection code to correctly detect certain types of SSDs.
    * Fixed an installation problem with the PATH variable longer than 1024 characters.

Does the fact that updates are still being released for Diskeeper 2010 imply that the release of Diskeeper 2011 will not occur in the near future?

Thanks, Triple Helix: it appears that the release of Diskeeper 2011 will be occurring "soon."

I have found one minor problem with the 913 update to Diskeeper 2010 pro (running on XP pro SP3):

When I do a boot time defrag, the screen does not respond to the keyboard ('do you want to run degrag, type Y', or, at the end of the defrag, 'press any key to reboot') and I have to wait for its internal count downs for it to start and for it to reboot; the latter is 60 seconds. Slightly irritating.

This did not happen with previous builds, which were responsive to the keyboard.

    Anyone elose found this?

"Diskeeper Corporation are at CES this week talking about their plans for the forthcoming Diskeeeper 2011, which is due in the first quarter of this year.

Not a lot is known about the release, but the company are teasing a new feature called Instant Defrag, a new defragmentation engine that will “immediately eliminate defragmentation”. In an announcement today, the company said:

'Diskeeper 2011 intelligently monitors newly created fragments and then runs Instant Defrag to remove the fragmentation that is degrading system performance. Rather than waiting for fragmentation to build up, Instant Defrag provides uninterrupted peak system performance and reliability.' "

"Technology Sneak Preview - Diskeeper Announces Perfect Marriage of Defrag Technologies: New Instant Defrag and Fragmentation Prevention
    2011 International CES

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Diskeeper Corporation will be at the ShowStoppers press event at CES leaking new features from its forthcoming Diskeeper® 2011 performance software release. The software now contains two unique defrag technologies closely married together to achieve the ultimate in PC performance: one to prevent up to 85% of fragmentation before it ever happens—an industry first—and the other to swiftly and instantly handle any additional fragments which affect PC speed and reliability.

All PCs suffer from the effects of fragmentation such as slow system performance, system crashes, slowdowns, freeze-ups and system failures. Even with new storage solutions and increasing drive size, fragmentation is a bigger issue today. The disk still remains the weakest link in system performance making the need for defragmentation more relevant than ever before. New Diskeeper 2011 offers technology which enables all PCs to achieve the full benefits of system performance and reliability.

    Technology in Diskeeper 2011 includes:

IntelliWrite®: The revolutionary fragmentation prevention technology first introduced in Diskeeper 2010 intelligently writes files to the disk to prevent up to 85 percent of fragmentation from occurring before it even happens.

New! Instant Defrag™: New advanced defragmentation engine that immediately eliminates fragmentation that is not proactively prevented by IntelliWrite. Diskeeper 2011 intelligently monitors newly created fragments and then runs Instant Defrag to remove the fragmentation that is degrading system performance. Rather than waiting for fragmentation to build up, Instant Defrag provides uninterrupted peak system performance and reliability.

New Diskeeper 2011 is scheduled for release first quarter of 2011. "
