you can get a 3 user kaspersky internet security 2011 licence for FREE if you are a barclays customer. Just log in to your barclays account page and look for the kaspersky offer.

I'd take KIS 2011 over 2010 every day of the week. I would imagine the key is backwards compatible though.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of any of the last few years of KIS. Not anymore anyway. There are smarter solutions out there.
Aside from the tired old 110% CPU usage thing when scanning, no major problems with 2011 though.

Is everyone getting the high CPU usage or just an unfortunate few?

I've had the issue on multiple PCs dating back to KIS 2009. I'm guessing it's fairly widespread, but I honestly haven't bothered to check the KL Forum or anything.

To bad as KIS and KAV are dirt cheap at Future Shop and Best Buy right now.

It does seem to me that more users experience the web slowdown than the unreasonable CPU usage.
Anyway, if you're okay with running OD scans only while you're away then the CPU usage should be a non-issue.
Note: I have always enabled the "concede resources" (or however it's termed) setting.

All that said, I couldn't pass on the $20 boxed copy from Amazon a few weeks back. I'm sure I'll find a good home for it eventually.
