Back to avast! Free. MSE 2 is still too resource intensive.

Norton Internet Security 2011 + Norton DNS.
Feel somewhat safe with that :p
Is Norton DNS really necessary in my case btw?

If you use IE/FF (which has the Norton Toolbar) it is not necessary, but if you use other browsers like Chrome/Opera, then he would be a good option.

I totally agree. So much for a simple antimalware from the people who probably best understand windows.

Testing V2 for a while. So far, not a good experience. As far as performance goes, I prefer NOD32, avast! and Norton, in that order.

Tell you what..IMO after using sandboxie if you are a power user theres no need of any malware or virus protection..You just need a firewall..I am trying to learn more about sandboxie its awesome.. :thumb:

This may be crazy to some folks and over the board.

This is my paid setup and runs smoothly on my PC:
    NIS 2011
    Adware - real time
    Malwarebyte - real time
    SAS - real time
    Peerblock -realtime
    HMP - on demand

    Browser:
    Adblocker
    Last Pass

I feel very protected and like a fat man not worrying about drive by malware...
    :D
Surf the net and often goes to unknown site downloading Mugen characters. You never knows what to expect from those foreign site. I was able to see NIS, Adware, and Malwarebyte goes into action but not SAS.

My hardware consist of 4ssd raid 0, quad cores, and 8 gigibit of memories

My suggestion would be to dump ad-aware, change SAS to on demand and add something to protect against 0-day malware like HIPS or sandbox. I use DefenseWall to prevent 0-day malware.

I just got Defensewall through the Softpedia offer and so far I really like it. It is unobtrusive yet extremely powerful. :thumb:

Do not use this, the more you have good hardware, this is too much.

Remove Ad-Aware, and run SAS and MBAM for on-demand, and set the Sandboxie (Preferably to the paid version) and is better protected than all that you are using.
