Damn, good I had a reason to launch Hitman Pro again, reminds me of the fact I got only 27 days to go.

On topic: didn't encounter any issue with the 64-bit version.

Tried latest beta and default scan went fine. No problems to report (XP Pro SP3).

I'm getting a 08e Bluescreen Abend with the latest HMP 118 during boot. This was an online update. Launch after update was not a problem. I did not run a scan, but shutdown for the night. Now I'm getting the abend during boot. I can send dump if needed. The previous version of HMP works fine. Both dumps show hitmanpro.sys. XPSP3

For those that didn't know, build 118 is officially released. The changelog is slightly different than the beta one, at the last point:
Does this mean that a removal license for personal use is free?

According to EULA 1.1 in Build 118:
Corporate users may NOT use the free 30-day license. They can purchase corporate or incident licenses (as cheap as $3.75 per computer) from our shop or they can contact our helpdesk at support@hitmanpro.com for a quote.

Oh ok, so it's basically the same 30 day trial as before, but now restricted to personal use?

Does 'Scan computer daily during startup' take into account scans intiated by the user?

I downloaded 118 from Surfright and I am still getting 8E system abend. Works okay on Vista, but not on my XP system. If I launch
118 and run a scan without booting it works okay. The abend is only happening if a scan on startup is triggered during boot.

Erik, do you want the dumps?

Doesn't seem so, because I did a scan with 118 and after reboot, an auto-scan was triggered. The only problem is in my case,
HMP crashed after the scan was triggered.

    Thank you Adric.

'Scan computer daily during startup' seems to do nothing for me.

Sometimes it depends when the last auto-scan was run. If I remember correctly, it would not run again until a certain amount of time had elapsed. I've noticed times where HMP did not always follow this rule though. Maybe things have changed. Erik should know.

I either enabled the setting then, manually scanned and rebooted or manually scanned then, enabled the setting and rebooted.

I will see what happens tomorrow and wait for Erik to confirm if that is normal behaviour or not.

Hi Adric. Sorry for the late reply. I am rather busy :(
I am very interested in the dumps though. Please send them to my personal email address (you should have it ;) ).

The "Scan computer daily during startup" waits 24 hours before another scan it started during startup. The manual scan should reset the 24 hour clock though but I am unsure :doubt: . A registry key is written when a completed scan took place. The scan at startup looks at this key to see whether it needs to run.

    Hope this helps.

Also helpdesks, service desks and computer repair shops that serve home users MAY USE the free 30-day license.

Helpdesk, service desks that serve business users MAY NOT USE the free 30-day license. They can purchase a license from here. But they can also contact support@hitmanpro.com for a quote.

Weird to see that Opera stores its cache in PE-files o_O

Thank you for your reply Erik.

Today, I went into Hitman Pro's Program Files folder, executed the 118 beta, unticked 'Scan computer daily during startup', deleted the Beta file, executed the 118 final, ticked 'Scan computer daily during startup' (I cannot remember if I unticked it or not) and rebooted.

Hitman Pro started at login and scanned.

Should installing final versions delete the beta file in Program Files?

I think these files are partially downloaded files by the Opera browser.

Latest build doesn't seem to have an activate free trial button. Tried both 32 bit an 64 bit Win 7.
