Got myself a second hand PC with either Win95 or 98 when I was a kid...can't remember exactly. But it didn't lasted long enough...a few days and 'poof' it stopped working. Didn't bother sending it for repair or find a replacement for it...it was left to dust. So, I was literally the 'odd kid in town' with no PC at all when my friends had one. Damn it. I was entirely clueless on how to operate a PC during classes...and it didn't help that I usually ended up absent on those days since I've got poor health during my younger days with constant asthma attacks. When I was at the age of 13-16 during secondary school, I had to resort doing my project works in school computer labs..it was tough meeting deadlines, etc. Then, 2-3 years back, I was entering polytechnic. And it was a requirement for students to have an individual laptop. During the holiday break after receiving my GCE O' Level results, I got myself a part-time job and earned myself just enough to purchase a laptop with XP and Vista dual-boot pre-installed. It was such a sweet experience knowing that it was bought with my own hard earned cash for about $1600-$1700. I knew I needed to do lots of catching up to do and that's when I seek knowledge by trying various things out (and breaking them at the same time) on XP. I got myself comfortable with XP...it was in essence, my 1st real OS experience. I did boot into Vista once in a while but it was only after a year or so that I started using both simultaneously. Nowadays, I'm on Windows 7. I've not touched XP/Vista for quite some time since I did a clean install and removed the 2 from my lappie.
DOS 2.1 or something like that - no HD, 5 1/4 floppies (I've still got some if anyone should want some) and 64 ko RAM.
Apple IIe And for some reason, I miss those 5 1/4 floppies. I still remember the stack of 5 original floppies and 5 working floppies just for the game Wasteland.
