I agree, but I believe that some of the people would actually be using their real e-mail to participate.

I mean, I let family members know about this promo/contest, and why would they want to have the hassle of creating a new e-mail account just for this purpose, and what would they have to hide from avast!, anyway?

avast! should protect the e-mails and not dispose them.

Agree with you. But i guess they won't gonna STOP publishing this. Either we have to ask VLK or we have to post a message on their Facebook wall ..

In the Terms and Conditions pdf file, this is mentioned

It makes no mentions that e-mails would be made of public knowledge, or that they would be placed at some pdf files in Facebook.

Had I known this beforehand, I wouldn't let my family members know about it. Shame on avast!.

    There's also a contact e-mail: winners@avast.com

You're right, m00nbl00d. Poorly handled, in my opinion... and I am writing them to voice that opinion. :thumbd:

Just to let you guys know. I won a license, I already received it, I had no issues. In short: the giveaway is not rigged.
Also, the email provider is censored, there's no feasible way to get the real address besides guesswork.:doubt:

avast can do little to limit the unfairness of some people, claiming more than one key. I won't participate in another quiz and wish you all that haven't got one the best of luck :)

I am thankful for the xmas gift. Amongst all the negativity in this thread, I wanted to say "Thank you" to the people of avast for giving away 3100 licenses for free. :thumb:

I have it on good authority that both the rules and how the winners are displayed will be fixed.

Edit in: the facebook page that was previously showing the winners has been altered and no longer displays them.

    I finally got a license :) ...
My advice for those who haven't won yet: I think the winners are selected at the beginning of every hour (so you should play at minute 00).

Well, for things to be fair (time zone difference), AVAST should randomly select 100 e-mails, after the 24 hours period (when switching question) ends.

The way it works, it's unfair for people who are asleep at the moment questions switch.

    Just my 2 cents, anyway.

Thats why they change the question randomly for different times zones.

    Really?

I've monitored one question (two days ago to yesterday) and it was the same every time. And, trust me, I haven't slept much. lol The question has never switched to a different one. It was the drive-by download question.

    -edit-

And Melissa question still remains alive, as well. It hasn't changed. And, this question appeared yesterday, pretty much at the same time as it is now here; maybe 1 hour after or so; but that's it. It didn't change at all.
