I think Avast selects winners at will. There are numerous members here who entered todays answer after I did yet they still got a license and I have nothing.

I won a license on the second day of the comp but didn't get the email confirming until the next day.

Who knows if they are keeping to their t&c's.

Hello a lucky avast! Winner! :)

Thank you again for participating in our December Quiz. :)

You were among first 100 lucky one, who replied correctly to our question. As
promised we generated one free 1-year license of avast! Internet Security.
    Please find it attached.

The license I won was named - License_86.avastlic

So I guess I was the 86th out of the 100 that day who won.

Today's question is live, not sure how long it's been live for.

No doubt there won't be many licenses left for today, so hurrrrrrrryyyyyyyyy

Look at all the dodgy email names- lol

What percentage of the 3100 licenses will be going to legitimate winners.

Just on the first PDF number 44 and 45 are the same and 77 is a fake.

    The second PDF, number 9, 40, 53, 77, and 100.

Third, 1 and 5 are identical, 34 is already on one of the other lists, and 60.

Fourth, 16, 51 and 71 are identical, almost the entire list is fishy.

    Fifth, 22, 25, 29 are all the same, 23, 57, and 86.

The least Avast could do is limit it via IP address.

One email account will be @live.com and the other @googlemail.com etc.

Unlikely to happen, and to be honest it would be unfair. How so? What about dynamic IPs? Right now I have one IP assigned to me, but as soon as I disconnect and reconnect, a new one will be assigned. This means that who ever would be assigned with the previous IP that was assigned to me, wouldn't be able to participate in avast! promotion/contest. At least, not until this person is assigned an IP address that isn't blacklisted by avast!.

I do understand your point of view, but it wouldn't be practicable, IMO.

    Well caught .. :)

I don't know what they gonna do with those license keys. Well each license is gonna expired on the same day/year, so what's the use?

In the beginning stages of this thread I said this give away was rigged. Now there is speculation on Avast's Facebook page saying the same thing.

Indeed. What's more upsetting, IMO, is why would avast! make the participating e-mails of public knowledge?

Sure, they mask the domain, but if we think of it, we could just combine them all with the most popular e-mail services like Gmail, Live Mail/Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail and a few others.

Kinda stupid from avast, in my way of seeing it. Specially, considering avast! is a security company; which should be safeguarding our interests and not dispose them to any one.

Anyway, maybe I'm just imagining things. :D

I am sure most of these people gonna arrange their own promo offers on various forums and websites and some of them will trade these license keys with others..

Well i am sure most of these email ID's are temp. one. Nobody gonna use those email ID's after getting the license keys.
