This is off-topic and not related to the thread but as Amazon is included ... is there anybody who can help me with software purchases from Amazon - most software products are not shipped to Bulgaria . Anybody has an idea how to bypass this problem ?

Don't really understand why you don't just buy online and download the software, rather than try to buy a CD version, however there are a number of services that can provide you with a local U.S. address and then do the shipping for you, e.g. Bongous.com and MyUs.com

Thanks King Grub that's exactly what I was looking for.

    @ExtremeGamerBR

Thanks dude. In Program Control I see Auto, Block does it have a "Ask" or any other options?

You mean you don't have to purchase every year. A rep told me last night in a live chat I would have to pay every year. They don't disable the software after a year of updates if you don't make another purchase; that's what I read at Amazon anyway.

I haven't seen such an option from Amazon or ebay (show it to me if you find it , please) . What I have seen are mostly software in boxes that offer free or cheap shipping. Everything seems OK until I come to the end of the ordering and type the address , then I get an error they don't ship that certain product to that destination.

I am aware of these services - there are such services all over the world including here but it seems expensive to me. I would get something from Amazon because it would be cheap . If I use these kind of services (like MyUS) the price of the good and delivery will be much more , thus making the whole thing expensive.

When will Norton IPS support Google Chrome?

From a technical standpoint, implementation of the IPS module depends on the state of current set of APIs for chrome, which I hear are not that extensive. From the marketing perspective, this will not happen until Chrome gains significant market share. On an unrelated note - Given the fact that even after so many years, Symantec still does not have mail scan support for SSL based connections, I dont see that happening anytime soon.

If Norton's support of IPS and Indentity Safe for Chrome is very likely that I would be using the Google browser.

I love the Identity Safe, I'm really a fan of this function (Cause I do not trust the security of a broswer to save my passwords), and as I have several entries on forums and e-mails I do not like having to keep entering the password.

I hope that soon the Norton support the broswer like Chrome and Opera and x64.

    Sorry for my english!

Norton 2011 does support Chrome . IPS works with Chrome 7 and now 8.

I use Norton Antivirus (not IS).

Download Insight is also supported . Just the toolbar (Indentity Safe and Safe Web) is not included in Chrome.

I just bought NIS 2011 (1 user, 3 PC) last week for $26.00 on Amazon, and downloaded the software directly. It's there, you just have to look around till you find it. You get the key on Amazon, and you can download it as many times as you like, it's in your software library....

Norton IPS scans all network traffic. The plug-in for Internet Explorer and Firefox allows Norton IPS to detect attacks that are more evasive.

Currently no antivirus integrates in Chrome to offer features equivalent to those, which are offered for IE and Firefox. Most of integrated security suites (ex. Kaspersky, Norton, Comodo etc.) monitor/filter traffic independent of browser used. There is currently no (antivirus) toolbar for Chrome.

I'm sorry for the off-topic but why not the suite, do you combine it with another firewall? I'm intending to use NAV with Prevx Paid and Sandboxie - do you think they'll get along? I appreciate your knowledge in Symantec products so I'll be grateful if you answer.

No , for real-time protection I use only Norton Antivirus or Symantec Endpoint Protection . For firewall I use Windows Firewall and a router - nothing else.

I don't use N360 or NIS because I the simplicity of WF and none of my computers need additional anti-spam protection . The ones that are offered by our web-based emails (GMail and Windows Live) are enough. I don't suffer from unwanted emails.

Symantec doesn't recommend any other real-time scanners . I don't think Prevx would be something you should use in real-time because it includes scanning for threats that Norton can handle , too. I am not aware of issues between Sanboxie and Norton.
