A year or two ago I used not to, but with the latest versions of products it affects protection so I always participate in community/cloud services.
Sometimes, on my summer vacation i used to test beta av's and report back (EAM V5) but after school started i don't have enough free time xD
Yup its always my favorite part of the AV. I report files to Rising Security Network, send files to Panda CI servers, and submit data to Microsoft Spynet.
Besides Wilders I do not participate in other AV forums. Wilders have a great diversity and dynamic in my opinion, because we are not hunted by a bunch of Fanboys, who just believe that there is only one solution to the malware menace, theirs and only theirs Av solution . I like diversity, especially when people disagree with me, and can discuss in a constructive plan. Best Regards
The OP is not asking if you visit other forums. The question being asked concerns whether or not you participate in community functionality, wherein a vendor asks to anonymously gather pertinent information from your computer. I believe it is very helpful to the vendor to do this (and thus beneficial to all users), so I am always inclined to agree.
Hi Page42 I can see what you mean, it's quite obvious that I have totally misunderstood the question, but that is something that I at least can correct. The answer is definitely yes, i do participate. Best Regards and thanks Page42 , I must have had a short brain hemorrhage, and then short before it is christmas.
@ Woodgiant It appears that you aren't the only one who misinterpreted the question. Best regards to you as well.
Oh, ti got it wrong too I though he asked if i participated in any beta test etc. Then, if that's the case i always participate in Community Functionality, as someone said above i'm glad to help them improve their detection/software if i can
