1, Prevx does not protect when being offline. But then again, if infected, and you go online, Prevx will protect what's important (i.e. bank account etc) via its SafeOnline module and will immediately scan computer once online, hence removing the threats. Furthermore, if Prevx misses a virus, the Prevx-company will clean the virus for you, guaranteed or you get your money back. :)

2, Prevx is extremely light on disk I/O. Try it yourself and compare it to what other claims to be light such as PCA or Avast. Prevx is nowhere nearly that high in disk I/O as those 'light' programs. It simply outperforms them. RAM-usage is typically less than 10 mb and CPU is 0-1%. But what matters is the disk I/O, and that's where Prevx outperforms every other solution by a lot.

@shadek -- THANKS for the info! :thumb:

I restore an image when I get I nasty and POOF! - no more nasty. Ergo, an AV's cleaning ability is of zero concern.

I've seen this said many times but never seen any proof or, as Bellgamin states, description of what 'light' actually means. The one performance test i have seen (the one on Raymondcc) places Prevx as one of the quicker solutions but certainly not the fastest

That approach is only as good as your latest image. If you do an new image on a daily basis it's possible to lose quite a lot of data still.

I like the performance of Panda except for the FP part which would be a concern.

I would like to say that SM_Unlimited has did an excellent job with this thread.
To sum up the results, there is no perfect Antivirus software all have their strengths and weakness.
This thread can be very helpful for those who want info about what would be the best for them.

Unlike some people, I will be the first to change Antivirus software if it doesn't protect me, has bugs, compatibility issues, high false positives, etc. I'm not a fanboy of any software, if it doesn't work the way I want it to then I will change.

I have already tried just about all of the popular AV's both paid and free, I'm very satisfied with Avast Free. It fits my needs and works excellent on my system, of coarse if something else better comes along or Avast gets where it doesn't satisfy me, I won't hesitate to change.

    Thanks.:)

the op said he built this spreadsheet for his own personal use. vipre was included in some of that testing, but i'm guessing the op wasn't interested in it.

Thanks for your time and Thought you put into this graph. It's a real simple way to look at some of the testing without having 400 Windows Open!

Yes there will be, still waiting for the rest of the december results from the major testing vendors. So i'll probrably wait until end of december unless there is major demand to release updates right now.

So far only gathered more results from AV_Comparatives (Retrospective and dynamic tests) and performance rankings from Antivirusware http://www.antivirusware.com/ posted yesterday.
