I was wondering if there is a setting to set the antivirus to use multicores during a scan, because I'm experiencing a bit of lag during the scan when i fire up internet browsers. I have an i5 760 + 4GB of ram, so I'm in doubt when this thing lags

    Hello,

Please try adjusting your temp folder permissions as described within the following Knowledgebase article:

    http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN554

NOTE: I understand this article says it applies to Vista machines, Win 7 is very similar.

Let me know if this helps resolve the issue.

    Thank you,
    Richard

Wonder if it's simply your hard drive slowing things down..

Check the ekrn.exe process in task manager - select Set afinity from the context menu and make sure all processors are selected. It's actually Windows that manages multiple scans on several cores at a time.
