Password Protection for Settings

Am I right that applying a password to protect settings also stops responses to alerts without the password being entered?

Is there a way to just protect the settings I have configured but still allow other users to respond to alerts without entering the password?

Thanks for that. Hmmmm will wait for another alert but I am sure that's what happened last night, password pop up on alert from firewall to app installation.

If you have set the firewall in interactive mode it will ask you what to do, if you for eksempel is installing new software, or there is software on your Pc who which to connect to a server. When you have chosen how you response to the firewall messages will be, then you have to write your password before a new rule can be made in your firewall.

Thanks I thought that was correct. OK will have to think again. Sounds like if I am going to allow friends to use the guest account on the pc and make sure that they cannot make changes, I need to apply the password having put the firewall into automatic mode...?

Will that work or will they still possibly be tripped up when using my PC?

If you put your firewall in automatic mode,then you will not be prompt for entering a password. The firewall will then make a rule according to a set of predefined rules set by Eset.
